At the world-famous Goodwood Festival of Speed the all-electric Porsche GT4 ePerformance has kicked off its world tour, which aims to highlight the potential of the vehicle concept and the associated racing formats.

The new Porsche GT4 ePerformance has demonstrated its power publicly for the first time at the Festival of Speed in the south of England. The outing on the 1.9-kilometre hillclimb course in the grounds of the Goodwood estate also marked the launch of the GT4 ePerformance world tour. Over the next two years, the innovative test vehicle will travel around Germany and beyond. The aim is to demonstrate the potential of the cutting-edge vehicle concept and the possibilities of racing formats associated with it to customer racing teams, partners and decision-makers in the motorsport world.

The legend of “La Voiture Noire” has evolved once more with the sale of a one-of-one sculpture by Asprey and accompanying NFT to a passionate collector for £378,000 in a live auction hosted at Phillips in Berkeley Square, Mayfair. Inspired by the infamous lost Type 57SC Atlantic and its modern-day reimagining, the Bugatti “La Voiture Noire”, Asprey’s studio created a unique gold sculpture and original artwork fused with an NFT.

Norisring. A chaotic Saturday race, with many retirements, saw Philipp Eng (AUT) finish fifth and score valuable points for the Schubert team. The outfit from Oschersleben (GER) continues to lead the Team competition. On Sunday, Marco Wittmann (GER) drove a strong race to finish fourth at his home event. The two-time champion came home fourth, narrowly missing out on another podium after his third place at Imola (ITA). BMW M again celebrated its 50th anniversary as Presenting Partner of the weekend at the Norisring. Franciscus van Meel, CEO of BMW M GmbH, and Andreas Roos, Head of BMW M Motorsport, attended the event to mark the occasion. In the DTM Classic Cup, BMW M works driver Bruno Spengler (CAN) made a successful guest appearance at the wheel of a BMW 320i STW.

Successful start for Mercedes-AMG Motorsport in GT World Challenge Europe at Imola

For Mercedes-AMG Motorsport, the first season round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola ended with a double podium, a PRO-AM class victory and another class podium. After an action-packed race with numerous safety car interventions and full-course yellows, the #88 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of the Mercedes-AMG Team AKKODIS ASP ended up in second place overall while the #2 Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed entry also made it onto the podium by finishing third. At the same time, the #20 SPS automotive performance car got the new year off to an optimal start with its PRO-AM success. The #5 Haupt Racing Team Mercedes-AMG GT3 secured another podium result during the premiere of the newly introduced Gold Cup as it finished third in this category.

World Premiere of the EQS SUV at Mercedes me media: The all-electric luxury SUV

Bonaldi Motorsport’s Loris Spinelli and Max Weering kicked off the 2022 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe season in the best possible way as they strolled to victory in the first 50-minute encounter of the weekend at Imola. The Italian/Dutch combination, at the wheel of the #61 Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2, held the advantage either side of the mandatory pit-stop to beat Jean-Luc D’Auria and Stéphane Tribaudini (VS Racing) by 17.981s.

The first fully electric BMW 3 Series, tailor-made for China.

The BMW Group continues to broaden its portfolio of electrically powered vehicles. Its latest addition is the fully electric BMW 3 Series, which will enter the Chinese market in May 2022.

The BMW i3 eDrive35L is the perfect fit for the particular requirements of Chinese customers. It is based on the successful BMW 3 Series, which led the premium-compact segment in China in 2021.

With an 11 cm longer wheelbase than a standard 3 Series, the BMW i3 eDrive35L combines a premium rear seat experience with locally emission-free driving. At the same time, the all-electric four-door sedan offers all the sporty driving dynamics, long-distance comfort and wide range of individualisation options for which the BMW 3 Series is so well known. A high level of build quality, service quality and longevity are likewise standout characteristics of the BMW i3 eDrive35L, making it a unique offering in the premium-compact segment.

The BMW i3 eDrive35L comes with all the latest BMW Gen5 eDrive powertrain components already familiar from the BMW iX3, BMW i4 and BMW iX. Plus, the BMW OS8 operating system and a wide range of cutting-edge digital features and services – e.g. high-end connectivity and the Digital Key – are making their 3 Series debuts here.

Fine tuning of the BMW i3 eDrive35L’s suspension systems to Chinese road conditions has been carried out by the BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. R&D division in Shenyang, which also adapted some of the car’s componentry to the requirements of the supply chain in China.

The BMW i3 eDrive35L will be assembled exclusively for the Chinese market at the BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. plant in Lydia, Shenyang.

With the BMW i3 eDrive35L, the BMW Group portfolio of fully electric cars now comprises six models.

The BMW Group is aiming for fully electric vehicles to account for 50% of its global sales by 2030.

Mercedes-AMG Motorsport going into GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup with title ambitions

Following promising test days at Circuit Paul Ricard in France, Mercedes-AMG will be starting the new Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS season from 1st till 3rd April. A three-hour race at Imola’s Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari will be the season opener of the high-class GT series with another four endurance races to follow in the course of the season. Seven Customer Racing Teams will be bringing a total of eleven Mercedes-AMG GT3s to the grid that are, among others, to secure the title defence in the global manufacturers’ standings. In the past three years, Mercedes-AMG had managed to decide this intercontinental championship in its favour.

In the 2022 motorsport season, Mercedes-AMG is again coming up with a considerable presence in the GT World Challenge Europe: in the Endurance Cup, Customer Teams GetSpeed ( #2, #3), Haupt Racing Team ( #4, #5, #777), SPS automotive performance ( #20), Winward Racing ( #57), AKKA ASP Team ( #87, #88), Madpanda Motorsport ( #90) and SKY – Tempesta Racing ( #93) are running a total of eleven Mercedes-AMG GT3s, all with top-notch line-ups. SKY - Tempesta Racing will be entering a Mercedes-AMG GT3 in this series for the first time. With the #2 Mercedes-AMG GT3, under the Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed banner, one of the cars receives extended support from Affalterbach in 2022.

In addition to the opening event in Imola, Italy, the season includes four further prestigious endurance races. There will also be races at the Circuit Paul Ricard (3-5 June), as part of the 24 Hours of Spa at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (28-31 July) and the Hockenheimring (2-4 September). The season finale will take place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from 30 September to 2 October.

Bugatti Centodieci About to Enter Production – Over
50,000 Kilometers Covered in Endurance Testing

Over the course of many months, Bugatti test drivers and engineers gather technical data and gain valuable experience at high-speed, on handling routes and circuits, on highways and in city traffic – all of which is shared with the technical development department at Bugatti Engineering for meticulous evaluation.

The production-based prototype of the Centodieci completed over 50,000 test kilometers in total upon its return from Nardò in the Puglia region of southern Italy, following final endurance testing.
