Chemix, an AI-powered electric vehicle (EV) battery developer, has secured a significant US$20 million Series A funding round led by Ibex Investors. This startup utilizes algorithms to design and optimize novel batteries for EV makers, aiming to accelerate the typically slow and laborious battery development process.
By leveraging AI, Chemix can significantly reduce the time and expense involved in battery design, with one study showcasing a drastic reduction in identifying fast-charging techniques from over 500 days to just 16 days.
The startup's focus is currently on electrolyte design for EVs but plans to expand to other critical battery components like cathodes and anodes, alongside home batteries, addressing the evolving demands of the rapidly growing EV market.
