Greenlight Pictures, in partnership with SunStrong Entertainment, are proud to announce our next feature film, ‘The Fox King’. ‘The Fox King’ stars Dian Sastro, Idan Aedan, Amerul Affendi, Chew Kin Wah, and Hadi Putra.

The film is in post production and we are excited to bring the film to Malaysian and South East Asian cinemas in 2025. The Fox King’ revolves around fraternal twins who are forced to fend for themselves when their father abandons them after remarrying a younger bride. The arrival of a new teacher, Lara, further complicates matters, and puts their brotherly bond to the test.

The film is co-produced with Dahuang Pictures and KawanKawan Media, and is supported by Finas.

The Malaysian censorship board with their new draconian 'guidelines' will really hamper industry growth. This is really really sad for filmmakers trying to create meaningful art.

Malaysian filmmakers have condemned recent moves to expand film censorship, expand religious and conservative viewpoints and to micro-manage content.

Stone Turtle plays in the Asian Film Festival in Barcelona, along with other Asian films.

"The Asian Film Festival Barcelonal, in the year 2023, completes its eleventh edition. The event specializing in Asian cinema remains faithful to its origins, in which it presents a program that includes more than a hundred films proceeding from around 25 countries in Asia and the Asia – Pacific region, in which historical narrative, gender issues, and drama in all its dimensions fill the cinematographic proposal of this edition with its content."

London Migration Film Festival is an annual film festival that has been running since 2016. The aim of the festival is to challenge the narrow rhetoric on migration that often sees migration, and people on the move, framed in reductive and dehumanising terms. The festival is taking place from 22-29 November 2023.

We just heard great news from the ImagineIndia Film Festival in Madrid, Spain, where Stone Turtle had been nominated for several awards, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Production, Best Actress and Best Poster.

Stone Turtle was awarded a Special Jury Mention for Best Director and Second prize for Best Poster.

The head jury of the awards was Mohsen Makmalbaf, the great Iranian filmmaker whose landmark films Kandahar and Gabbeh were films I admired whilst still a student.

Barbarian Invasion invades Singapore! Our film with Da Huang Pictures and Epicmedia, directed by Tan Chui Mui and produced by Woo Ming Jin and Bianca Balbuena-Liew, starring Pete Teo, Bront Palarae and Chui Mui, will be released in Singapore next week!

Producer Woo Ming Jin does an online Q&A on the 11 and 12th of August, while director Tan Chui Mui will be present for a director's session on the 17th!
