Most notably, he received The Best Journalism Award in Nov 1997 for the Best Entertainment Journalism Award by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (the current prime minister of Malaysia)
Throughout his career, Gerald covered lifestyle and personality articles at Life & Times and generated editorial content for advertisers at 1Klassifieds. For eight years, he ran the popular column "Interview The Experts." In 2007, Gerald achieved a milestone by launching his book, "In The Eye of The Tiger: Survival Principles from Sylvester Stallone Life & Films" alongside Jacqueline Stallone. After leaving the newspaper industry, he joined The BrandLaureate Awards, conducting exclusive interviews with esteemed figures, including presidents, CEOs, and celebrities, and showcasing their stories in the BrandLaureate Business World Review magazine. One of his major achievement at The BrandLaureate was facilitating the presentation of The BrandLaureate International Brand Personality Award to Muhammad Ali, before the legend passed on.
