TikTok has made a chocolate bar from Dubai so popular, it’s now affecting pistachio prices around the world. The treat, called “Can’t Get Knafeh of It”, is made by a fancy chocolatier in the UAE called Fix. It’s filled with creamy pistachio and crispy kunafa, and videos of it have racked up over 120 million views.

Because of the hype, everyone wants pistachio chocolate – but there aren’t enough pistachio kernels to go around. Prices have jumped from USD 7.65 (RM36.40) to USD 10.30 (RM49.00) per pound. The US had a smaller harvest last year, and Iran is now sending way more pistachios to the UAE to keep up with the craze. All that from one viral chocolate bar!

Flash floods hit parts of Klang Valley this morning (April 23) after heavy rain overnight. Roads in Sungai Buloh, Petaling Jaya, and Subang Jaya are badly affected. 86 homes were hit by the floods, but no one has been evacuated so far.

Floods on the Elite Highway near the Shah Alam Interchange heading to Seafield caused a big traffic jam, with one lane blocked. On the NKVE, floods near Km 9.1 (Shah Alam to Subang) closed three lanes, and the jam stretched all the way to Setia Alam.

The weather department (MetMalaysia) issued a thunderstorm warning for today until 9am for Selangor and other states. Drivers are advised to avoid flooded areas and be extra careful on the road.

Sony is reportedly planning to launch the PlayStation 6 in late 2027, following their usual seven-year cycle. This time, we might be getting two versions — a standard home console and a portable one. Looks like Sony is seriously eyeing the handheld gaming scene.

The PS6 is expected to run on AMD’s latest tech, with support for 8K resolution at 60fps. While there’s no official price yet, early estimates put it at around USD600 — that’s roughly RM2,850 and up for higher-end models. Time to start saving… or manifesting.

Instagram is trying out a new feature called Locked Reels — and it’s all about secret codes and exclusive content.

Here’s how it works: when a creator posts a Locked Reel, it shows up blurred with a clue. To watch it, you need to enter the right code. Comments stay hidden until you unlock the reel, but once you do, you won’t have to enter the code again.

The Jalur Gemilang flew at half-mast across Dataran Merdeka today (April 15) in a solemn tribute to Malaysia’s fifth Prime Minister, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who passed away yesterday evening at 7.10pm. The usually lively square stood quiet, as tourists paused to take in the subdued scene.

As part of the state funeral, all buildings within a 2km radius of Masjid Negara have been instructed to fly the national flag at half-mast until the ceremony ends. The late Tun Abdullah, fondly known as Pak Lah, will be brought to Masjid Negara at 8am for funeral rites, with final respects to be paid between 11am and 1pm.

The funeral prayer will take place after Zohor, followed by his burial at the Makam Pahlawan (Warriors’ Mausoleum) in Kuala Lumpur. His passing was confirmed by his son-in-law, Khairy Jamaluddin.

The passing of the late Allahyarham was confirmed by his son-in-law, Khairy Jamaluddin.
