Government spokesperson Fahmi Fadzil has emphasised that the requirement for rally organisers to obtain consent from property owners is clearly stipulated under the law.
Speaking to the media today, Fahmi urged all Malaysians, regardless of political affiliation, to respect and adhere to this rule.

PSM: Did Anwar, Harapan seek permission from police, DBKL for reformasi rally?
PSM deputy president S Arutchelvan has criticised the requirement for rally organisers to obtain approval from premises owners under the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 as ridiculous and called for its amendment.
This came in response to Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail defending a police directive that rally organisers obtain approval from premises owners, as stipulated in the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.
Arutchelvan revisited the past when Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Pakatan Harapan leaders championed street protests and asked if they sought permission from the police or Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) under the Police Act to hold their reformasi rallies back then.

Meanwhile, Mirzan’s total declared assets are valued at RM246.2 million, with a personal net worth of RM120 million.
