AMATEUR | World number two women's amateur Mirabel Ting becomes the first Malaysian to receive the prestigious ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel - an annual award given to the top women Division I collegiate golfer as voted upon by players, coaches and members of the golf media.

A junior at Florida State University, Ting has enjoyed standout season, recording five individual victories, including the Folds of Honor Collegiate and Schooner Fall Classic in 2024 as well as the Collegiate Invitational at the Guadalajara Country Club, the Briars Creek Invitational and the Florida State Match Up.

By virtue of winning the award, she will join 2025 Women's Amateur Asia-Pacific champion Jeneath Wong at the fourth women's major championship - The Amundi Evian Championship in July.

PGM | Anson Yeo prevailed in a battle of national amateurs to win the Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) Tun Ahmad Sarji Trophy.

Yeo produced a moment of sheer brilliance when he chipped in from 30 feet for a birdie to defeat Nathan Wong on the first playoff hole at the Saujana Golf & Country Club.

The 19-year-old Sarawakian let slip a five-stroke overnight advantage, carding a nervy 74 to finish regulation play level on nine-under-par with Wong, who fashioned a brilliant five-under 67 to force extra time.

Meanwhile, Korean professional Bang Hee Yeon became the first international women's champion on the PGM Tour following an impressive 10-stroke victory.

Playing on a sponsor's invitation, the Saujana Golf & Country Club member fired rounds of 70, 68 and 69 for a nine-under total.
