In a signing ceremony marking this exciting two-year collaboration, Bermaz Motor presented a mock cheque worth RM100,000, signifying their support towards the club's ongoing community and development initiatives.

This strategic partnership is set to drive the club's growth, enhance its offerings, and elevate the overall golfing experience. As part of this collaboration, Mazda vehicles will be featured as exclusive hole-in-one prizes during major tournaments hosted at the club-bringing extra thrill and prestige to competitive play.

MAJORS | Rory McIlroy has achieved golfing immortality by winning the 2025 Masters Tournament!

McIlroy converted a four-feet birdie to beat Justin Rose in a sudden-death playoff to complete the career Grand Slam in a hugely dramatic final round.

Having missed a par putt to win in regulation, McIlroy's birdie on the first extra hole denied his Ryder Cup team-mate.

He becomes the sixth man to complete the full set of four major championship, joining Gene Sarazen (1935), Ben Hogan (1953), Gary Player (1965), Jack Nicklaus (1966) and Tiger Woods (2000).

AMATEUR | It's the end of the road for Malaysia's Mirabel Ting and Jeneath Wong at the Augusta National Women's Amateur after both players missed the 36-hole cut at the Champions Retreat Golf Club.

Having opened her campaign with a disappointing 76, world number two Ting improved with a second round four-under 68 but narrowly missed the cut, which came at one-under by a single stroke.

"I came into this tournament with a lot of expectations," said Ting, a junior at Florida State who tops the American NCAA collegiate standings after winning six events in the past year.

"I think that is one of the biggest mistakes I've made. I shouldn't have put so much pressure on myself and expected so much in this event. But today was a great round. I played more freely than yesterday, and scoring was much better," she added.

Reigning Women's Amateur Asia Pacific champion Wong returned rounds of 73 and 74 to finish on four-over with only the top 30 players and ties advancing to Saturday's final round at the Augusta National Golf Club.

INSIDE THE ROPES | Danny Chia has secured full playing rights on the PGA of Japan Senior Tour after finishing T4 in the final qualifying tournament on March 13.

The 52-year-old carded rounds of 72, 69 and 69 for a three-day total of six-under 210 at the Ibusuki Golf Club in Kagoshima, Japan.

"It has always been my goal to play in Japan and I'm glad to have secured my card on the prestigious Japan Senior Tour. Considering I'm still competitive against the younger boys on the domestic tour, I think I can challenge and contend on this tour," said the two-time Asian Tour winner.

INDUSTRY | The government, through Perbadanan Padang Golf Subang (PPGS), has inked a supplementary 30-year lease and manage agreement with Kelab Golf Negara Subang (KGNS) for the 36-hole golf facility.

Speaking during the signing ceremony on March 14, Youth & Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh emphasized the importance of maintaining the golf course as both a sports and recreation facility and green lung that continues to benefit the public in the greater Petaling Jaya area - in line with the vision of the country's first prime minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, who established the club in 1968.

She added that as part of the new agreement, KGNS has agreed in principle to support more junior grassroots development programs and make available the facility for national athletes to train.

The government first entered into an agreement in late 1971 that granted KGNS a 99-year lease on the 121-ha property. The land ownership issue has been a source of friction for over half a century, with frequent run-ins and legal disputes between several government agencies and KGNS over who should have a greater say over the golf facility's management.

This new agreement by the Madani government ends lingering speculation since the mid-2000s that the government has earmarked the golf course for sale to developers to build high-end properties.
