PAS vice-president Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar has denied that the party has ever held political discussions with anyone from the Madani coalition.
He said any talks between the two were official business only.
Former Bersih chairperson Ambiga Sreenevasan, once a supporter of Pakatan Harapan, criticized the government on X last night for imposing new licensing laws on social media.

Perikatan Nasional has announced former Gua Musang PAS deputy youth chief Mohd Rizwadi Ismail as the coalition’s candidate in the upcoming Nenggiri by-election.
Kelantan Menteri Besar Mohd Nassuruddin Daud revealed Rizwadi’s candidacy during a function attended by top PAS and Bersatu leaders, with a notable absence of representatives from Gerakan.
Rizwadi is a 41-year-old retired navy officer who has joined Bersatu but will contest the seat under the PAS logo, Nassuruddin added.

Perikatan Nasional election director Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor is the latest PAS leader to make it clear that no tears would be shed if Gerakan chose to leave the coalition.
The Kedah menteri besar also said the Gerakan leadership must learn to respect the Malays and Islam in Malaysia.
Earlier Gerakan deputy president Oh Tong Keong said the party would not hesitate to leave PN if it means defending the Chinese education system.
He said Gerakan would not stay in a coalition if it is forced to accept extremely conservative and unreasonable demands of a "particular party".

Former education minister Maszlee Malik’s call for Aiman Athirah Sabu’s head to roll over the Tiger Beer saga has left Amanah communications director Khalid Abdul Samad puzzled.
Last week, the former Minister of Education claimed that Aiman’s involvement in a fundraising event of a Chinese school organised by a beer company was an embarrassment and had tarnished Amanah’s image.
There must be some conclusiveness within a proportionate timeframe for the investigation into the death of Teoh Beng Hock, said lawyer Ramkarpal Singh Deo.
Ramkarpal, who represented Beng Hock's parents Teoh Leong Hwee and Teng Shuew Hoi, said this in response to the defence arguing that police do not need a specific timeline to complete a certain investigation.
A decade ago, on July 14, 2014, Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was shot down by a Russian-made Buk missile over eastern Ukraine, killing all 298 people on board, including 43 Malaysians.
On November 17, 2022, the Hague District Court sentenced two Russians, Igor Girkin and Sergei Dubinsky, and Ukrainian Leonid Kharchenko to life imprisonment for their role in the downing of MH17 and the murders of those aboard. Another Russian, Oleg Pulatov, was acquitted.
Yet, none of those responsible have been imprisoned.
Five Malaysian media outlets, including Malaysiakini, were invited to attend the 10th year commemoration event which took place on July 17 at the MH17 National Monument in Park Vijfhuizen, near Schiphol Airport.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke stated today that there is no “grey area” in the cabinet’s decision regarding guidelines for Chinese school fundraisers.

Gerakan will not hesitate to quit Perikatan Nasional if it means defending Chinese education, said party deputy president Oh Tong Keong.
In a statement yesterday, he also said Gerakan would leave the coalition if forced to accept the extreme demands of a "particular party."
Oh responded to Ahmad Fadhli Shaari's warning that Perikatan Nasional might drop Gerakan in the next election due to their differing views on a brewery funding vernacular schools.

The remand order for four suspects who had been detained to assist in the investigation of the kidnapping case involving six-year-old Albertine Leo Jia Hui ended today.
Iskandar Puteri police chief Assistant Commissioner M. Kumarasan reportedly said that their remand order was not extended.
Police today warned the public against taking part in an anti-government rally in Tambun, Perak tomorrow as it will be an illegal gathering.
Ipoh district police chief Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said a notice submitted by rally organiser Save Malaysia Movement Secretariat to police on July 24 was found to be incomplete for it failed to obtain permission from the venue owner.
Thus, he said, the notice did not fulfil requirements set by the Peaceful Assembly Act (PAA) 2012.
