The highly anticipated Thailand Marine and Offshore Expo (TMOX) 2024 kicked off on 16 October 2024 at BITEC in Bangkok, Thailand. The event was officially inaugurated by Mr. Kenny Yong, CEO & Co-founder of Fireworks Trade Media Group, followed by Mr. Yoothapong Tancharoen, Director Research and Innovation Division of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), and Captain Pridsasang Kadkhuntod, President of Thai Shipbuilding and Repairing Association.

Since its establishment in 2006, the Pelita Maslaut Maritime Academy has reduced the number of foreign seamen working on Malaysian ships.

Its general manager Mohamad Nazim Masni said yearly statistics showed that locals make up to 50% of the total workforce on Malaysian ships.

Previously, foreign sailors monopolized work in the marine field in the country.
