The second NGC meeting of 2024, hosted by SIRIM Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, was a success! Chaired by Dato’ Wei Chuan Beng, the meeting brought together industry leaders and government representatives to focus on "Digital Capabilities – Make, Then Manufacture."

Highlights included an inspiring overview of advancements in smart manufacturing by Ir. Dr. Rohaizat Omar, a strategic review of DPN project statuses, and a visit to the Smart Manufacturing Experience Centre.

The session concluded with a productive networking session to foster collaboration and discuss future initiatives.

Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) has launched the Productivity Grant, aims to discover, and aid groundbreaking products with the potential to enhance customer productivity and operational efficiency.

The Productivity Grant are specifically targeted towards three key industries: Agro-food, Tourism, and Professional Services. This initiative aims to foster Research & Development, and Commercialization and Innovation (R&D&C&I).

Projects are to be completed within 12 months and it is a matching grant with a maximum cap limit of RM350,000. Companies are encouraged to create innovative solutions that tackle current challenges and open doors to new growth opportunities within these sectors.

Digital Productivity Nexus Governing Committee Meeting 1/2024

Venue: FMM Penang / virtually via Zoom

The first NGC meeting session of the year hosted by FMM Penang.

Chaired by the Champion of DPN, Dato' Wei Chuan Beng, the meeting was attended by over 20 meeting members, including government representatives and industry players physically at FMM, virtually via Zoom.

This session focused on updating DPN initiatives for 2024 and encouraging collaboration with the industry in the state of Penang.

The meeting also featured presentations from Digital Penang and Intel Corporation respectively on the Penang Digital Transformation Master Plan and the Intel Digital Readiness Programme.

Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) through Digital Productivity Nexus (DPN) have successfully conducted the fourth series of the Nexus Governing Committee Meeting this year, with the esteemed Chairmanship of Dato' Wei Chuan Beng, the Champion of DPN, and the official commencement by Mr. Zahid Ismail, the Director General of MPC.

The focal point of the session centered on providing a recap on DPN's activities and programmes throughout 2023.

Notably, the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) delivered a presentation on the Labour Productivity Performance for the third quarter of 2023.

Following this, Mr. Mokhzani, the Deputy Director of MPC, presented insights into the New Industrial Masterplan 2030 (NIMP), specifically addressing its implications for ICT and the Digital Economy.

Moreover, a strategic session was conducted to deliberate on DPN's trajectory and plans for 2024.

The meeting saw active participation from MPC's management, alongside representatives from both the public and private sectors.

The Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) through Digital Productivity Nexus (DPN) recently had a chance to meet with EZ One Bikers Sdn Bhd Kontuz powered by EZ One Bikers EZ1 Bikers , owned by Steve Chee, one of the Digital Acceleration for Learning and Industry Adoption (DALIA) participant at Telok Panglima Garang, Selangor.

The session kickstarted with introduction of his business which include selling motocycles and accessories and followed by an in-depth explanation on the latest electronic vehicle (EV) motorcycle market trend.

After joining DALIA program, EZ One Bikers was able to make full use of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to have quick access to customer interactions, reorganise business operations by centrally managing customer information and automating processes.

Significant productivity improvement was observed when previously they took around 2-3 hours to interact with customers and capture customer’s background while they only require 30 seconds for the entire process after joining DALIA

The event was held at Agmo Space, MMU Cyberjaya and was attended by DPN Champion, Dato Wei Chuan Beng, DPN Co-champion, Mr Shaifu Saleh and attended by industry players.

The event kickstarted with an opening remark by Mr Asmawadi Mohamad, Senior Manager of Technology Section from MPC followed by an in-depth presentation by Agmo Academy & Agmo Holdings Berhad on their core activities including conducting courses related to technologies.

The event then proceeded with a fire-side chat entitled Strategic AI Implementation In Business: Balancing Efficiency and Ethics, moderated by Mr Shaifubahrim Saleh, Advisor of PIKOM and the panelists who shared their views including Dato’ Wei Chuan Beng, Prof Ts Dr Mardeni Roslee, the Chairman of Centre for Wireless Technology, Faculty of Multimedia Engineering MMU and Simone Macario, the Founder of VOX AI and Sharly AI.

Digital Productivity Nexus (DPN) recently had a chance to meet with Plainet Creation, owned by Jack Wang, one of the Digital Acceleration for Learning and Industry Adoption (DALIA) participant at Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur.

Jack Wang has extensive experience in shoe-making industry as he has dedicated years of learning the best technique in shoemaking. He specialises in making custom shoes to address the concern of those who have issues of finding shoe size in local shoe store.

The session kickstarted with introduction of his business, in-depth explanation on shoe shape, material and style followed by further explanation on the process of choosing the best shoe.

After joining DALIA program, Jack Wang was able to make full use of the Google Business platform to further advertise his business profile online. By deploying Google Business Platform, his Business Profile Interaction increases from 0 to 56 and his Discover Business Profile increases to 188 from 0. This shows a significant increase of his business profile traffics & views.

Recently, a strategic session between Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) through Digital Productivity Nexus (DPN) with Using Technology Better (UTB) was conducted. UTB is a company that has expertise in training and education in the use of software from Google, Microsoft and Apple. They also provide training services to other countries such as New Zealand, Australia and South East Asia.

In this session, DPN also explained the background of MPC in driving the nation's productivity and the importance of adopting technology in industry.
