Spring stirs with a restless haze of shimmering guitars and ghostly melodies, blooming not with hope, but with the weight of what’s been left behind. Summer swelters in sun-scorched distortion and fevered nostalgia, its light warped by the dread of fleeting days. Autumn drifts into deep introspection, its brittle tones and fading echoes mirroring the slow decay of everything once vibrant. Winter closes the cycle in desolation, its distant reverberations stretching across an empty, frozen landscape where time feels lost and the world stands still.

Like the changing seasons, Seasons drifts through cycles of loss and longing, warmth that fades into emptiness, and beauty tinged with decay. Each track pulls the listener deeper into its own desolate landscape, where memories blur like fog and time erodes all that once felt certain. Whether you find yourself in the restless ache of spring, the fevered haze of summer, the quiet unraveling of autumn, or the hollow stillness of winter, Seasons is a soundtrack to the inevitable—where everything beautiful slips away, leaving only echoes behind.

Oddweek, initially conceived as a solo project by Haziq Hamsa during the pandemic, has evolved into a heartfelt expression of hope, resilience, and connection. Drawing inspiration of the indie-rock influence, Oddweek’s music combines reflective lyricism with emotive instrumentation to explore themes of family, friendship, and perseverance. The project began in the solitude of the pandemic era, a time when Haziq sought to channel his thoughts and emotions into music. The release of two singles before the EP marked the first steps of what would become a six-track journey, offering listeners a glimpse into Oddweek’s evolving sound and personal growth.

The EP is deeply influenced by the desire to maintain hope despite life’s challenges. Through its lyrics, Oddweek emphasizes the importance of family and friends, providing a sense of support and grounding in times of uncertainty. The songs speak to the struggles of not wanting to lose hope and the inner strength needed to keep fighting through tough moments. With its heartfelt messages and melodic approach, Oddweek’s debut EP offers an honest reflection on the highs and lows of life.

Forced Reality a hardcore punk from Pekalongan Indonesia, sound is raw and aggressive, with fast, dissonant guitar riffs and relentless drums that drive a sense of chaos. Vocals are shouted with venom, reflecting a world on the brink of collapse. Lyrically, they tackle things of mental illness, internal struggle, and the horrors lurking beneath everyday life, while also attacking the corruption and decay of politics. The noise feels like a call to resist the forces that control and distort reality.

“Rogon” is a term from the Kadazan-Dusun languages of Sabah, Malaysia, meaning “devil” or “demon.” In Kadazan-Dusun folklore, rogons are malevolent supernatural beings associated with misfortune, illness, and disturbances. This concept reflects the traditional worldview where the spiritual and physical worlds are interconnected. Rogons symbolize the darker side of the spiritual realm, contrasting with benevolent entities.

Bad Spirit by Rohgon, aptly named to evoke the malevolent connotations of “rogon,” dive into spears of inner conflict, political manipulation, mass violence, resistance to systemic injustice (symbolized by “1312”), and criticism of monarchy. The title suggests a reflection on the darker forces at play in contemporary society, drawing a parallel to the disruptive spiritual entities. Through its tracks, the EP explores personal struggles and moral dilemmas, critiques deceptive political tactics and mass atrocities, challenges systemic oppression with a nod to anti-police brutality sentiments, and questions the legitimacy of monarchical rule. In doing so, Bad Spirit parallels the folklore’s depiction of harmful influences, capturing the essence of societal and personal turmoil in its provocative and incisive commentary.

Iron Gaze - Exordium

Iron Gaze, Malaysia's rising force in crossover thrash hardcore, storms onto the scene with unrelenting fury. A dialogue steeped in irritation and a feeling of being stuck, with the narrator sensing a lack of advancement. Time seems to crawl by, and the clutter in their mind from overthinking persists, inundating them with a myriad of thoughts. They convey their weariness from excessive rumination.

Nevertheless, within the frustration, the narrator acknowledges that the individual they are speaking to serves as their source of drive. Initially appearing to hold this person accountable for their frustration, they swiftly remember that the person is not the cause but rather a source of inspiration. Despite this realization, the narrator still grapples with bewilderment and defeat, questioning their own value and feeling a sense of worthlessness.
