DE Rantau Satellite Series III attracted a strong total of 173 attendees, who gathered to explore the integration of emerging Tourism Tech and Payment Platform technologies in supporting MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) growth.

Attendees from multiple verticals of industry players, hotels, travel and tours, Sekolah Menengah Mahsuri , Kolej Vokasional Langkawi, Langkawi Tourism Academy, and Giat Mara gained valuable insights into anticipating market shifts and streamlining processes, with practical strategies provided for creating scalable solutions.

DE Rantau Satellite Series III showcased the intersection of technology and entrepreneurship, highlighting the latest trends and innovations shaping the business landscape which was graced by YBrs. Tuan Haji Zulkifli Bin Abdullah, Ketua Penolong Pegawai Daerah (Pembangunan).

Living in Sapporo/Japan, Kana grew up in a metropolis amidst nature. Surrounded by mountains, further enhanced with the beauty of the flowers and trees through seasons, Kana’s inspiration as an artist is drawn from her surroundings where she primarily works with photography as a medium. She is known for her “Unnatural Nature” series, where she looks at nature in an abstract manner, as well as her “Arteria’’ series, which sees her embroidering onto photographs.

Do join us for a conversation with Kana, as she shares her ways of seeing and doing, and how being in the new environment of Langkawi further informs and inspires her work.

How Songs Are Made
FOR KIDS AGES 11-15

Date: SATURDAY, MARCH 2, 2024
Time: 4-6 pm
Venue: Bon Ton Resorts

This is a RARE opportunity for kids ages 11-15 to get first-hand exposure to the music production process. Starting with a live jamming session, kids will be shown the process of how songs are recorded and mixed to make them album ready.

The workshop will be led by three of Malaysia’s leading international music talents:
ZEE AVI: one of Malaysia’s first music stars to make her international mark and whose songs have been featured on popular shows including Gossip Girl, The Good Doctor, Master’s Sun and the movie 21 Jumpstreet.

RENDRA ZAWAWI: an award-winning music composer, songwriter, producer, and musician whose credentials include work on M For Malaysia, Ola Bola, American Horror Story & Mr Robot.

ALVIN WEE: a Grammy Award winning music mixer, recording engineer and music producer for film, television, virtual reality and video games.
His recent credits include music mixing Disney’s Encanto, which has received more than 15 award nominations, including the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Score.

Workshop will be conducted in English and BM. No music experience is needed, but interest in music is key.
