When we started working on That Cover Girl, our show Executive Producer, Zack Malek made it clear that we will not hold ourselves back in telling a great, progressive, Malaysian story to the world. Zack made sure that everyone got what they wanted on the set to deliver their very best. With that kind of undivided support, we were able to produce an international award winning series.

The series creator of , Abid Hussain, got inspired to tell the story of how women are taking the lead in their own lives in Malaysia and around the world.

Creative Stew has always been passionate about working with one of the best production teams in the country, This team which has helped bring Malaysia three national wins at AACA and a first ever nomination at the MIPCOM Cannes for this original series.

Fun Fact: That Cover Girl was turned down by more than a dozen different broadcasters for 6yrs before Creative Stew independently produced the show and Amazon Prime Video gave it a home when the series was ready.

The last 4 days had been quite eventful and pathbreaking at MIPCOM in Cannes. We met our old colleagues, industry friends, walked the red carpet and got glory to our dear Malaysia for getting nominated at the MIPCOM Cannes Diversity Awards for the very first time in television history for our series.

Although we didn’t win the trophy but watching Malaysia on the Cannes Grand Auditorium screen, where all great directors like Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, B**g Joon Ho and many more have showcased their award winning films and shows was good enough for us for first timers like us.

We are honored and energized to create better content in the future.

Su Ann as a character is one who doesn’t care what you think about her, she is going to make sure things run smoothly in people’s life and in business. Specially the life of her bestie Sofi. brings that energy on the set, she makes every room full of life with her non stop fun but very professional attitude. She made Su Ann her own and ran with it and it shows on screen.

Fun Fact: During the shoot of That Cover Girl, Melissa was also preparing for her wedding, which was scheduled to happen right after we wrapped production. She was also making arrangements for her big day while production was going on and that excitement on her face can be seen on the screen.

Laila is the voice of reason, a friend who will stop you from crossing the line, a business partner who will have your back in times of need. is a friend like that in real life too. She stands up for the rights of others, speak up for the voiceless and dazzle everyone with her charm and wit. She knows fashion like no other because she is a fashion model and was the right fit to play Laila.

Fun Fact: Alicia trained all the models in this series for their fashion catwalk. That’s why all models are walking like a fashion model in the series.

Darius Khan is the player who went way too much towards the deep end. underplayed the character so well that no one questioned his intentions in the show. Aiman’s fans just went gaga to see him play a grey character. His character arc journey was very rewarding in the end.

Sofi the protagonist who carried the story on her shoulders as if it was her own story. Beautifully played by one of the best actresses in Malaysia Siti Saleha. Sally lived the character of Sofi and as per our audience’s reaction to the series there was no better talent to play Sofi than Sally herself.
