No, no, it wasn’t a back to back camping after Forest8Senses. But here we are again with another delayed post. Editing is hard work 😅

Hulu Tamu Eco Resort, a place where we had no expectations but went home with a whole lot of calm and peace, and a bunch of limau kasturi 🥰 The place was just right, the weather was perfect despite the scare of the swelling river the night before which scared away some campers, which was understandable especially when they have kids.

It took us a while. Work, life, commitments. Hardly could find time to even write anything, much less posting at all. But we had to hit pause, to allow our minds to wonder again. And wonder we did.

Back then, this relatively new campsite in Tanjung Malim, Perak has been rising in popularity. We decided to book a lot, invite our camp buddies and check out what the hype is all about. Our friends who joined us for our 2023 year end camp, again graced us with their participation.

The shallow river was definitely the highlight. We had so much fun, yet there were moments where we just sat and enjoy the healing sounds of flowing water. The site itself were truly jam packed with avid campers but we’re thankful that noise was kept to a respectable level (except for next door snoring sounds 💤).

During the Raya holidays, we managed to secure a lot at PD Mayangsari for a night. Not only was it our first beach camp, but also a first to include kids as well. And what an experience it was. To the strong winds during tent setup, a first to camp under no shades at all, and a first with so much condensation under the tarp and inside the shelter. But totally glad the kids (and their parent) came along. They had a wonderful experience, had some kite flying sessions, ate camp food and more. No mosquitoes, no stress, no crowd 😜 exactly the way we like it. But sadly, no sea of clouds as there wasn’t any rain that day 🥲 We were greeted with the breeze of CNY, and it was like a mini hurricane. Setting up the Kampkeeper SUV Tent for the first time was tough under windy conditions.

The moon that night and continued breeze was welcomed, where it created a mood that suited us both. We're looking forward to repeating this again next year. Saw 2 nice Defenders going up to the highest spot but a X70 struggled, reversed and used momentum to get up.

2023 Year end camp, with friends on their first camping experience. With duku langsat in abundance and other veges, our Master Chef went on a rampage, devouring them and bringing home freshly plucked winged beans.

Sous chef was an excellent addition to the crew, and together, they are most welcomed to join us anytime they want when we camp.

We love that the site allows for car to be at the lot, allowing for easy access to all our gears. Night was cool and listening to the flowing river was calming. All in all, it was a great end to 2023 and we are looking forward to more this year!

All we wanted for Xmas was to camp.
We couldn't spare the long weekend to do so but were grateful for one Silent Night at Leng's Cafe.

It was a cool night for car camping. Located right in front of a cafe means less cooking and more time to hang out and relax. Love the calm morning view but it gets hot pretty fast when sun rises. We quickly pack up soon after breakfast ^-^

This was our inaugural camping after being urbanized for decades. The campsite was Willow Tree Campsite and what a first day it was to be. After setting up, rained practically the whole afternoon and throughout the night. Our inexperienced showed, when we placed the tarp over a newly turfed area which we were not aware of. Mud became our friend that day, and we relocated the tarp the next morning. Campsite assistant, Mr. Liew was quick to respond when we informed that there wasn't any water in the toilets nor sinks.

But the view in the morning was fantastic. We were the only souls there for the 3D2N duration. Suffice to say, the North Face Wawona tent series performed with flying colours. Brought plenty of stuff as first timers, and now understand what are considered necessities and what are optionals. A short edit video for your entertainment.
