Renowned Malaysian TV host Desmond Tey 郑瑞钥 has compiled content from the past decade of his flagship TV program "A New Journey," now in its 11th year of production, into a book. This effort aims to document and honor the history of Chinese immigrants in Malaysia.

“Publishing 'Blossoming Upwards, Rooting Downwards: A Journey of Chinese Migration and Deep-Rooting in Malaysia' has always been my dream. It took me nearly six months to sift through and write articles from the vast amount of program content. However, finding suitable photos was a significant challenge since there was no plan to publish a book during the initial filming.” After discussions with the publisher, both parties decided to use screenshots from the TV program and illustrations.

To add value to the book, he invited international sculptor and creative director James Seet to personally guide him in creating two pottery pieces. "The earth is the source of all life, and when clay mixes with water, its strong plasticity reminds me of the resilient spirit of the Chinese. I hope that through the process of 'clay + water = art,' people can see the hardships endured by our ancestors in Nanyang, creating a better life for future generations. I liken this history to 'the art of suffering.'"

Additionally, all proceeds from "Blossoming Upwards, Rooting Downwards: A Journey of Chinese Migration and Deep-Rooting in Malaysia" will be donated to the Little Hand Charitable Foundation's orphanage.

马来西亚资深电视节目主持人 Desmond Tey 郑瑞钥 ，在其电视节目代表作《启航》迈入第 11 年的拍摄，精选出过去10年的节目内容结集成书，以文字记事，望为马来西亚的华人 移民史略尽绵力。

“出版《 向上开花，向下扎根 ——追寻马来西亚华人迁徙与深耕之旅 》是我一直以来的心愿，要从大量的节目内容中筛选并撰写成值得阅读的文章，花了我将近半年时间，待完 成书写后，照片成了一大问题，毕竟当年拍摄节目时并无出版此书的意愿。”经与出版社商讨，双方决定除了从电视节目中截取画面，亦以插画来呈现。

为了让本书更具价值，他还特意邀请国际雕塑艺术家兼创意总监薛文杰James Seet亲自指导自己制作两件陶艺品，“土地是万物的生命之源，而泥土加水后其可塑性超强，这让 我联想到华人坚毅不屈的精神，我希望人们借住‘泥土 + 水 = 艺术 ’的过程，看见当年 先辈下南洋后，在艰苦的生存条件下为后代创造今日安逸的生活，我将这段历史比喻为苦 难的艺术一点也不为过。”

此外，《 向上开花，向下扎根 ——追寻马来西亚华人迁徙与深耕之旅 》的所有收益，将 捐献给小手行动慈善基金会属下的孤儿院。

Aimé Leon Dore drawing inspiration from RIMOWA’s pioneering spirit throughout the golden era of travel in the early 20th century. Featuring the RIMOWA x AIMÉ LEON DORE Chest and the RIMOWA x AIMÉ LEON DORE Cabin, both pieces embrace the essence of classic travel while infusing modern sensibilities.

Manufactured in Germany and assembled by hand, the collection is a testament to German precision and craftsmanship. Crafted using the design codes of RIMOWA's iconic Classic range, the pieces honour tradition while embracing Aimé Leon Dore’s signature green hue.

To see them in their natural environment, visitors must meet them on their own terms, which is why two leading Australian zoos have created new darkened experiences. Around 45 species of whale, dolphin and porpoise either visit or live permanently in Australia’s waters. Some waterways are so heavily trafficked by everything from the common orca to rare beaked whales, that they’re known as ‘whale superhighways’.
