Muslims rally in support of Palestine as conflict mounts
Thousands of Muslims gathered outside the National Mosque in Kuala Lumpur after Friday prayers in solidarity with Palestine, waving flags and holding banners protesting Israel’s military assault in Gaza, which has so far killed hundreds of civilians in retaliation for Hamas’ terrorists attacks last weekend.
Today’s protest follows Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s reiteration of Malaysia’s solidarity with Palestinian struggles, claiming that the international community has continued to take one-sided actions against Palestinians in all forms of cruelty and oppression.
In a show of support transcending political differences, also present were former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Perikatan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Parti Amanah Negara president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, DAP’s Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii and Umno Youth chief Muhamad Akmal Saleh.

Chandrayaan-3: India’s ‘Vikram’ lander successfully touches down on moon
India’s Chandrayaan-3 lunar exploration mission’s lander “Vikram” carrying the rover named “Pragyan” successfully landed on the moon’s south pole at 8.35pm (local time).
Prime Minister Narendra Modi witnessed the historic landing from South Africa’s Johannesburg.
No country has made such a landing before and India’s own attempt to do so in that lunar region via the Chandrayaan-2 project failed four years ago.
India is now the first country to land a probe in the polar region of the moon and the fourth to land anywhere on the lunar surface.

An unconfirmed number of people were on the flight from Langkawi, which was reportedly nearing its destination at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang.
The aircraft’s mangled debris was still burning heavily at mid-afternoon. An area of trees and grass lining the road was also razed by the impact’s inferno.
It appears that the plane had hit the road before skidding violently off onto the slightly forested area.
