Ramadan buffet review after a year and half of deprivation to any social gathering.
A wonderful and friendly greeting was followed by the site of a beautifully laid out buffet of Malaysian delights, displayed against the breathtaking background of the city of Johor Bahru, which only improved as the evening progressed.
It was indeed a great experience with all the local flavours of Malaysia being served to perfection. I enjoyed each and every dish and my particular favorite was the Randang.
Over 300 dishes on offer with live cooking stations, featured dishes include Daging Briyani, Ayam Golek, Roasted Whole Lamb,Penang Char Kuey Teow, Satay and Durian Goreng.
Appetizers to start you off include an array of Kerabu, Jeruk, Sambal Belacan, Sambal Cencalok and more.
Sweet selections are plentiful and will more than please all that partake, both young and older.

It's an absolute pleasure to partner with CareFood Industries

My try on Sos Sambal Tumis. It was Spicy and not too sweet which was just perfect with a bowl of steam Rice.

Avante Yacht Charters have transformed their previous Travel cafe into EL Playa Bistro recently. A new small gem of a bistro located right in front of the popular cenang mall. Chef Tayfun, whose passion for cooking dates back to his childhood in Germany, has created some Spanish, Italian, Greek and Turkish dishes to the menu which gives a very good spread of authentic dishes from the western Mediterranean to the Eastern side. All dishes are characterised by only using olive oil and fresh and high quality produce. This little bistro offers a home cooked, high quality and tasty Mediterranean cuisine. Chef Tayfun who is actually the General Manager of Avante made his life long hobby a reality now and sharing with guests of EL Playa Bistro. You can also book your day cruise and /or sunset cruises right at the bistro while you enjoy the food. (Full review coming up soon)

Tzaziki - grated cucumber with garlic tossed in home made yoghurt with extra Virgin olive oil
Carrot Tarator - pan fried carrots with garlic tossed in yoghurt and blended with spices
Pırasa - carrot and leek sauted in olive oil with rice, tomato and lemon juice
Kısır - bulgur wheat with tomatoes, cucumbers, parsley, capsicum, spring onions tossed in olive oil and pomegranate mollases
Sauted mushrooms with garlic and yoghurt sauce
Spanakopita - puff pastry stuffed with a feta cheese, herb spinach mix. Turkish rice cooked in butter and olive oil.
Poached tengiri and barracuda in potato veggie lemon mix
BASBUSA - SEMOLINA DESERT with coconut SERVED WITH WHIPPED CREAM
KALBURA BASTI - TURKİSH SEMOLINA DESERT WITH WALNUTS AND VANILLA or chocolate ICE CREAM
Each and every dish was delicious . Highly recommend place to be.

This is one hidden gem we found . If you love Arabian cuisine than this place is a double triple must go place. It's been in johor for the last one and half year. Everything is made from scratch , the wide variety of sweets will make you fall in love again.
Fantastic food and great ambience. Reasonable pricing.
Next door is the Sh**ha place. If you are thinking of just catching up with friends over some bites ,their special tea and enjoy a Sh**ha at the same time ,than go ahead. Highly recommended.

Desaru fruit Farm has been a tourist attraction since 1994, and one of the best places to connect with Mother-Nature. They have a wide range of menu from Western,Local and Thai. We reviewed Local and Thai cuisine and it was fantastic. It's heaven on earth for meat lovers definitely.
I would vote that to be the best Burger's in town , the Patties were huge and juicy and delicious. This meat platter served with the Chicken burger, Lamb burger and Waygu Beef Burger. You said you wanted meat, so they gave you meat! Come and share this beast of a platter with your friends and family.

The Carnivore Platter is only available in the month of November. At only RM99 for 10 different types of meats and sides, it's a guaranteed steal 🤫

7Grapes is well known in Johor Bahru which was previously at Puteri harbor and now moved to a bigger and better location at Horizon Hill.
We would like to thank Chef Presley for the amazing spread that he served . Each dish was beautifully presented. The taste was as good as the pictures that catch your eyes and make you drooll. We were served with

The Lemon tart was definitely the best in town. They always keep few variety of home-made desserts that you definitely can't miss it out.
My favourite was definitely the Braised Beef ,which is marinated in red wine,onion and herbs for 24hours then braised over low heat for 12 hours which results in the flavourful and tender beef just melts in your mouth. Yummmmmmmmm.
Their other two signature dishes are Loaded Nachos and deviled Chicken Wings, Beef /Lamb / Chicken Burger, ( It's handmade patty), Mussel Bowl.
