🔙Rearview Moment🔙

August of 1999 I was invited to take the longest trip of my then young ministry career. Pretty much broke, with nothing more than a backpack full of t-shirts, jeans, an old guitar and my Bible. I boarded the Greyhound bus in Tyler, TX bound for Billings, MT and arrived in Billings only to find that the person who was supposed to pick me up….forgot. I begged and prayed my way into a local motel whose manager was kind enough to let me stay in a meeting room with the last $25.00 I had in my pocket!

For the next 3 nights I stayed in a tipi on the plains of Southern Montana, while the distant sounds of the pow-wow echoed. Throughout the next week I sang and spoke all over the Crow Indian Reservation. Little did I know that that 2 day bus ride would open up the door to going into every reservation in the state of Montana, not only that, but making great friendships with some of the best people in America👊🏻
