Puerto Vallarta Airport Modernizes its Immigration Access
Puerto Vallarta's International Airport has implemented 10 digital access modules, in which the user places their passport on a scanner and a photograph is taken to perform a facial verification of the passenger, a process that takes approximately 35 seconds. With this technology, waiting times are significantly reduced.

Maximum Sentence Given for Murder of Michel Ruben Castro Guiza
The Movement for Equality in Mexico, MOVii, reports that on August 27, 2024, the Criminal Court of Control and Orality of the VIII Judicial District, based in Puerto Vallarta, issued a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison against Miguel Ángel N. for the qualified homicide of Michel Rubén Castro Guizar, in addition to ordering full compensation for the damage.

These gatherings aimed to strengthen the relationship between the local government and business owners, including members of the LGBTQ+ community. After the meetings, Munguía shared a special message with us. Keeping Music Alive: A Night of Collaboration and CommunityOn August 29, 2024, a vibrant musical journey unfolded in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. The event, aptly titled "Keeping Music Alive," was a collaborative effort by Casa Karma, Spanish Learning Tree, PrintPV, Act2PV, and La Catrina Cantina, under the leadership of Georgia Darehshori, the owner of Casa Karma (a villa and live entertainment venue). The progressive musical adventure started at La Catrina Cantina and then made its way to Mary Ann’s Ovations Piano Bar at Act2PV. “This was a win-win night. Everyone will help everyone,” Georgia told OAPV while marching down the sidewalk. And a win it was, with venues having capacity crowds enjoying the live music. To commemorate the night, cake (three cakes) was served at Mary Ann's Ovations Piano Bar. The inscription on the cakes,"Let the 'live' music play on and on," perfectly encapsulated the spirit of the event for a thriving music community in Puerto Vallarta.
@moihmx historical and documentary researcher of Puerto Vallarta, shares his work on the curation of the 7-photo collection exhibited during the celebration of the 92nd anniversary of Puerto Vallarta’s range lights or lighthouses. The event took place at the newly restored Matamoros Lighthouse, rescued thanks to the efforts of the @rmptodo art collective. During the exhibition, we honored these concrete giants that have illuminated the path to Puerto Vallarta’s future since the early 20th century. We also celebrate the collective’s dedication to preserving these significant spaces and turning them into venues for cultural events, such as the wonderful concert that capped off this special day. Kenya Cuevas led the Vallarta Pride 2024 parade with a striking caravan and a funeral carriage, dressed in black along with members of Puerto Vallarta’s trans community. This powerful image honored the victims of transfeminicides and hate crimes against the trans community. 🇲🇽 Tragically, Mexico is the second country with the most hate crimes against trans people, only after Brazil. Kenya Cuevas, the most important trans activist in Mexico’s history, led the march in a deeply significant gesture. Her activism began in 2016 by marching with the coffin of her brutally murdered friend, Paola Buenrostro, and today, she continues to raise her voice for all the victims. Puerto Vallarta, the most important LGBT tourist destination in the world, celebrates love and diversity freely and shows it is crucial to continue marching for our causes.
