Share this with the person you want to visit China with! China has such unique culture - and the cleaning robots blew me away every time I saw them!
Before we visited China, we heard many people say how difficult China was for them to visit. Which may have been the case 10-15 years ago. But besides the fact of many of our usual apps being blocked (like Google Maps, and even Google), and many of the alternative apps being written in Mandarin, we really loved our experience!! The transportation, food, and ease of paying were great! We had a great time and met so many kind people in China.
But this was just our own personal experience. If you have visited China, how was your experience?

Share this with someone who'd want to go to the "Vegas of China!" This is the city of Macau in Asia - and it's SO fun.
Part Vegas replica (when we were in the Venetian we were like are we SURE this isn't Vegas), part uniquely amazing (with additional casinos like "The Londoner") - if you like Vegas, then this is a city worth adding to your bucket list

Share this with someone who would want to visit! 🌃 Haha I WISH this were in Las Vegas but right now it's in "the Vegas of China," the city of Macau (more about Macau in the next video)!
But the redesign of this hotel was completed by the Las Vegas Sands company just last year, so maybe there's a chance for it to eventually make its way to Vegas?! Comment below if you think it should be!
"The Londoner" has themed everything - from the telephone booth and big red bus, to the black cab and even "mind the gap." Such a fun design for a casino, and Macau is such a fun city (even for people like us who don't gamble or party!)

The city of Shenzhen is often compared as the Silicon Valley of China. And this building right here was known as the largest electronics market in the world. If you needed a part for building something electronic, chances are you could find it right here!
🤯 It was pretty impressive going up, floor after floor, seeing all types of electronics. People were really friendly! Today a lot of the electronics parts have moved online and Shenzhen has grown to become one of the biggest tech cities in the world.
😎 The entire city was so new, clean, and surprisingly quiet!!! (We ended up realizing this in all of the Chinese cities we visited. I think because of all the electric vehicles.)
🥳 Before we visited China, we heard many people say how difficult China was for them to visit. Which may have been the case 10-15 years ago. 🤔 For those of you who have also visited China, how was your experience?

I don't talk about this much, but sometimes I get a little protective of my hubby. 😄 And one of those times was when I had my exit interview with my job's business coach 8 years ago, prior to leaving for our RV trip to the 50 states.
It wasn't so much about what she said, but about how she said "must be nice to have a trust fund" (which was not true, and extra wrong when she knew our pain of losing Hud's dad. I understand how people who don't know our whole story might assume that - but the tone she said it in, face to face, seemed intentionally hurtful. And anyone who has been following along on our journey knows that if we had more money, we wouldn't be choosing to sleep in the places we did - and we definitely would have upgraded our transportation! 😜)
But now sometimes I think back to that day and smile. I don't often give "inspirational" talks in my posts and this may be a little cheesy but maybe this can encourage someone...
If you have a dream, don't let anyone's opinion stop you from pursuing it. Obviously you shouldn't just go out and quit your job tomorrow, but create an intentional plan for your dream and start taking small steps toward it.
It's not going to be easy, it'll probably take more work than you think, and people might not always understand. Sometimes you might not even understand. But if you feel like it's what you're supposed to do, and are willing to make the sacrifices to achieve that goal, keep pursuing those small steps to make it happen. You might look back some day and be grateful for where it leads you ♥️

I didn't expect to love trying all the different Disney themed international foods so much! But it was one of my favorite parts of visiting Shanghai Disney.
It was definitely over our usually travel budget, but considering it is Disney amusement park food, it was pretty reasonably priced!
What food would you try at Shanghai Disney?

Some of you may not know how we started traveling. Our initial goal was to visit the 50 states in the US - and it got off to a bit of a rough start!
Through our 2 years traveling around the US, we fell in love with travel. But when we started traveling internationally, and after visiting 100+ countries announced our goal to visit every country in the world, not many people believed we could do it.
And even though we were hoping we could make it happen, we didn't know how we would get the visas or money to complete our goal.
We are SO excited to now be less than 10 countries away and to hopefully in 2025 complete our goal of visiting every country!!!
This is a little backstory on how our travels started, and I know some of you have been with us since the beginning (thank you so much!!) but some of you might not know this piece of our story either.
We are so grateful for all of you following along with our journey!!

Every video about this GIANT Zootopia popsicle in Shanghai Disney seems to get over 1 million views! 😱 So we had to see if it lived up to the hype and how it tasted.
😋 The first thing that I noticed was the price. This thing was not cheap! It cost $27 for one giant popsicle. But It is honestly around the price I expected for a novelty food in an amusement park.
🤯The weight of this thing alone was impressive. It was HEAVY! But I was surprised when I first took my first bite. Instead of being pure chocolate, it was actually filled with some type of marshmallow inside. The cherry type flavor was pretty strong and not my favorite. But delicious or not, the experience, and the entire section of Zootopia in Shanghai Disney, were well worth it!
👇Would anyone else try this viral Zootopia popsicle?

We used to try to avoid going to American versions of places internationally. Why would we travel half way around the world to experience something we could see in our own country? BUT something that we started to realize is that going to a place like an international Disney is also great to see how cultural nuances shape even the most familiar places.
Right when we walked through the gates, the kindness of the people made us feel so welcomed. The rides were all pretty similar, but the castle was huge!
Probably the most surprising thing was that Mickey and the Disney princesses weren't the stars of the show. A lot of people visiting the park were dressed up as characters, but the most popular characters were from the movie Zootopia and Duffy! We had no clue who Duffy was before, but we learned about him pretty quick! There was a 4 hour wait just to take a photo with Duffy and friends.
And the grand finale of the parade was once again Duffy! Which we learned is supposedly Mickey's toy bear, but has since ended up overshadowing Mickey and Minnie themselves in the Asian market!
Experiencing something familiar like Disney, but through a new lens, was a great experience! And it made us want to visit more international Disney parks in the future!

Save this video if you want to visit Disneyland in Shanghai! We used to try to avoid American versions of things in other countries. But sometimes, places like an international Disney are actually a great way to be able to experience little cultural differences firsthand. 🥳
Disney is always fun, but Shanghai Disney was an extra fun experience. There were a lot of young adults in the 20s and 30s hanging out at the park. People were so friendly and the lines weren't too bad!
3 Disney parks down and 3 more to go I guess. 😋
