Sometimes I wish I was joking 🤣🤦♀️ Ok honestly it's not as bad as it sounds.
Over the last 8 years of full-time travel we've found it easiest for us to travel in backpacks. We've packed in big suitcases, carry-ons, and backpacks. And found that the best bag to pack in is.... whichever one you find best for you! (haha there are a lot of people who say there's only 1 way to pack for travel. But there are so many different reasons for travel that one solution can't fit every circumstance.)
If you are like us and are planning to travel to a lot of different locations over a long period of time, backpacks might be best for you. If you want to see what we pack, let us know and I'll try to put a packing list together!
(Oh ya and about Hud's underwear... Hud is making me clarify that a lot of full-time travelers pack a few pairs of quick drying underwear. Every few days he just washes them in the shower or sink. But it's a lot more fun to just say he only has 5 pairs of underwear and not add this part 😜)

Okay I know that it seems like we say this in most countries, but the people we met in Timor-Leste were soooooo kind!!! Hud and I were joking that the tourism board knew we were coming and intentionally planted their nicest people on the local busses to help us!
❤️ If you see this, thank you so much to everyone who was so kind to us in Timor-Leste! We hope to meet you again someday!
🌍 The country is also so unique! The only Portuguese speaking country in Asia. The only Christian majority country in Asia. They use US dollars but their own style coins.
😱 Our biggest regret is that we didn't do any snorkeling or diving while we were here! So many people there told us about the beautiful coral just off shore. And in the right season how you can even see the largest animal in the world, the blue whale.

Today marks 10 years since my (Hud's) dad passed away from a heart attack. I made this video two years ago - and as we get closer to our goal of visiting every country, I wish he could be here to share in our excitement. He was the biggest encourager of our dreams.
But even more than that, he was one of our best examples of loving people and living intentionally for Jesus. He lived with so much joy and always reminded us to seek God first. I am so thankful to have him as my dad, and so grateful for the impact he continues to make in my life.

Send this to someone who you would go sledding down a volcano with! This is a random throwback video I recently came across and a little embarrassing to admit... but I was so scared before riding down the volcano that I made a goodbye video for my family at the top of the mountain. (Just in case things didn't go so well. 🤣😇)
Since I was scared, Hud calmed me down and said he'd go first and that nothing bad would happen. And then I watched him sled down and wipe out at his top speed. He was so far down the mountain I couldn't tell if he was ok. But he quickly jumped up and waved to let me know he was ok!
Nicaragua was early on in our travels and if you would have told me what I'd do in the following years I wouldn't have believed you. 😜 I'm not a thrill seeker, but more a lover of a good experience. (Every once in a while there's an incredible experience but requires a little more adventure than what I'd prefer. But I'm always so thankful for each experience after.)
My favorite thing is that Hud never pushes me to do something I'm not comfortable with. (If anything he tries to talk me out of joining him if I don't feel too sure about something.) He's there to hold my had, go first, and encourage me every step of the way. He's the best and I'm so thankful to get to share these experiences together!

Anyone else go to take a beautiful photo only to accidentally take the ugliest selfie instead? 🤣😱 This should be illegal. 🤪
One of our most viral videos is my reaction to doing this exact same thing. We were in New Zealand and I was trying to take a photo of the beautiful snowcapped mountains, and instead I accidentally took one of the ugliest selfies. Hud and I were on a plane and were tearing up laughing at how bad my photo looked that we missed recording most of the beautiful mountains.

😍 We have just arrived to… Timor-Leste!!! Honestly, before we started traveling I didn't know much about this country. So if you are like me, here is a brief overview.
👉 It's the only Portuguese speaking country in all of Asia! (Portugal historically used this area as a port back when they ruled the seas.)
👉 It is also the only majority Christian country in Asia. Just in 2024 the Pope even came to visit Timor-Leste!
👉 It's the youngest country in Asia. Up until 1975 it was controlled by Portugal. Then it was occupied by Indonesia, leading to a deadly war, where nearly 1/3 of the country's population died. In 2002 it gained it's official independence.
👉 Some unbelievable scuba diving is here! It is home to some of the most biodiverse waters and beautiful coral. It is known around the world for it's incredible scuba diving!!

We visited Indonesia a couple years ago, and were so excited to make a short stop back here on our way to country 192...Timor-Leste!
If you saw our "slap the map" series where we ranked the most beautiful countries in the world, you already know how we feel about Indonesia. It's such a huge country and there is still so much of it we want to visit. Even with just the little piece we've seen, we're still blown away by its beauty.

Country 191, Mongolia! 🥰 This country is so unique from every other country. If you love horses and beautiful landscapes this might be the place for you! Here's a little behind the scenes of our not-so-noteworthy moments in Mongolia. 😁
🔴A few Mongolia BTS highlights were:
👉 Our amazing Airbnb host and staying in her yurt! ❤️ She cooked us traditional food, showed us how they handmade cheese in their yurt and even let us ride one of their horses!
👉 Seeing wild horses EVERYWHERE roaming the countryside!
👉 Spiders! The yurt was pure luxury, but we did have dozens of little friends in there too 🤣
👉 Someone trying to break into our yurt! Only to find out it was a baby calf!
👉 Trying the local food, climbing Genghis Khan statue, and visiting a national park!
