I walk past the window of an awesome thrift store fairly regularly, and the other day these beauties caught my eye. I went in to check the size, knowing there was no way they would fit, as it's darn near impossible to find my shoe size in the wild. Lo and behold, these amazing shoes were my exact size and fit me perfectly! Since purple is my favorite color- they definitely came home with me!

I was looking at shoes at Goodwill (Newton KS) and this sweet old lady said "Look at those!" I told my daughter "We have to show those to the group!" and snapped a pic, then another woman nearby said "You have to see the back!" and showed them to me.
I told her about this group and how much joy it brings me.

Cleaned up all my Ginger spice canisters today, so I thought I'd share. All thrifted, gifted, or Etsy, 1980s through present. The shelf was given to me by my dad in the 80s, and he called me Ginger when I was younger.

We call it the ugly cat. My Mom bought it at an auction in England in the early nineties. It now sits in my dining room. We all joke about the ugly cat being worth a ton but we know nothing about it other than she bought it for a pound at an auction years ago. I have always thought it was beautiful and weird.

Finally have something to post! Went to a church sale with my mom and found these two vintage Lusch Erzeugnis stools/chairs(?) for $15. They look like mushrooms and I immediately squealed. I can’t find any info on them other than who made them because it’s on the bottom! Can’t wait to clean them and find a place for them 😭🥰 Found in Grand Junction, CO

I’ve had these glasses for years. I am low key obsessed with mushrooms and my mil bought this huge set at a antique sale shop that is run on a farmhouse the lady owns. I absolutely love them and have seen others mushroom obsession items and thought I would share!

Got this out of the garbage dump at an estate sale that was over with. They threw $1000s of dollars of stuff away because they didn't want to pack it up. I knew it had to go home with me. It has no markings on it at all. It does not glow in black light
Edit: I did come home with 8 anchor blue pie plates, 12 Fiesta saucers, several other dishes, 2 lamps, and a basket full of marble eggs from Italy. And the Antique hutch I went to get ended up being free.

I didn't see anyone posting about their lamb cakes this weekend. Maybe I missed it! This is my great grandmother's lamb cake mold that's been passed down, and my mom currently uses it. Unfortunately, the lambs face fell off this year (it happens from time to time lol) so instead of frightening the kids with a faceless lamb, we made a lamb rice Krispy treat instead, using the mold. Turned out pretty good!

My neighbor passed away recently at the age of 96, she was like a great grandmother to me and has been my neighbor for my entire life. Her relatives are going through her house sadly throwing most of it away, and I was fortunate enough to save this from the trash. It’s a Wicker Elephant side table, estimated to be from the 1930’s. My neighbor never junked or sold anything, her AC unit was from the early 70s, the house is full of vintage untouched treasure, and this thing was way too interesting to not save!!

At one of the local thrift stores last weekend, I spotted something that intrigued me . . . . it was a hand-made 'cardboard' box, about 6" x 3-1/2", and about 1-1/2" deep, with stamps and a couple of addresses on it. I spotted that the stamps were German, and the addresses written in German as well. I popped open the box to find a cat inside! At this point it was like,yah, cat's coming home with me. Doing some investigation later after getting it home, the stamps date to 1932-1933 (amateur stamp collector here), and the address the little paper box was sent to was to a Mr Bohense in Talinn, Eastonia, from the sender in Germany. The "from" is on the side and harder to decipher, but I can make out a partial name, and that it was sent from Deutschland.
Checking out the little cat inside, it turns out to be a little squeaky toy! And you can definitely tell the age on it from being the 1920's - early 1930's era. And the little fabric bed it's laying in . . . is a handkerchief that's embroidered with a monogrammed H B, which is the initials of the person it was sent to.
How it ever made it's way to the middle of the Canadian prairies and ended up in a thrift store here, will never be known. But it's been cool as I've been discovering more and more layers of this intriguing handmade box with the cat inside!

This is my husband's not-so-weird but definitely wonderful secondhand find!! It was his anniversary gift to me in December. I have slept with the original, beat up Duckapus (because he's like a duck/platypus) since I was 9 years old (that's 21 years)! Husband found a basically new one on eBay and gifted it to me "in case something happens to Duckapus."
When I say I cried, I mean I sobbed!! The most meaningful gift ever!!
