Henwood Foundation (HF) is a Non-Governmental Organisation which was established to operate as a humanitarian and development wing of the New Apostolic Church.

HF exists to support and improve the livelihood of the needy and disadvantaged communities of different social, economic, religious and geographical backgrounds through various projects.

With funding from Nak-karitativ, HF is implementing the Livelihood, Savings and Investments Project targeting three areas in Lunzu -Blantyre, Luviri -Mzimba, and Luvuwo (Chigwere) -Nkhatabay.

The project aims to contribute to rural poverty reduction through improved food security, improved nutrition, increased mobilisation of savings and access to credit as well as investments in the targeted areas.

POSITION: VOLUNTER FIELD AGENT

NOTE: THIS IS A TEMPORAL POSITION

LOCATION: BLANTYRE AND MZUZU

JOB PURPOSE:
The purpose of the job is to facilitate the formation and training of savings and investment groups as well as farmer groups with the ultimate intention of turning them into cooperatives as the project progresses.

DUTIES:
√Mobilize and form savings and investment groups in the targeted communities
√Facilitate training on core savings, loans and investment modules to assigned groups
√Monitor activities of assigned groups
√Prepare periodic work plans and budgets
√Report on progress and challenges encountered of assigned groups in the targeted communities
√Contribute to effective program reporting, monitoring and evaluation systems for both internal and external use in coordination with other program officials.

REQUIREMENTS:
√Diploma in Business Studies, Community/ Rural Development or Accounting
√@ least 2 years’experience in rural group formation
√Must have at least 2 years experience in village savings and loans associations.
√Must be computer literate, result oriented and able to work under pressure.

NOTE:
An attractive honorarium shall be paid to successful candidates on monthly basis.

The Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services falls under the Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security, it exists and governed by two Acts; The Citizenship Act (CAP 15: 01) and The Immigration Act (15:03) of the Laws of Malawi.

The Department exists to do the following;

• To manage people entering and leaving the country in order to uphold the security of the state.

• To process and issue Travel documents to eligible people in accordance with the international Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Standards.

• To monitor, track, apprehend, prosecute, deport, and repatriate illegal immigrants in order to promote security of the country and safeguard employment for Malawians.

JOB TITLE

IMMIGRATION ASSISTANT - GRADE N

Duties and Responsibilities

• Processing Travel Documents, Permits, Citizenship and Visas I'm accordance with the existing policies.

• Screening and monitoring of people entering and exiting the territories of Malawi.

• Conducting Boarder patrols and snap checks in order to detect regular migrants.

• Patrolling along the Boarders in order yo detect illegal entrants and settlers.

• Preparation and compiling monthly progress reports.

• Carrying out any other duties as assigned by The Director General from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidates should have the following;

• Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) with at least six (6) credits including English

• Be between the age of 16 to 25 and single

• Be prepared to undergo a six (6) months intensive induction training

• Be of sound mind and physically fit to undergo a six (6) months intensive induction training and physical exercise as part of the interview process.

• Be willing to undergo a full medical examination

• Have a good command of both written and spoken English Language

• Must not have been convicted of any crime

• Be willing to work in all districts of the country

• Required height is 1.65 metres for male applicants and 1.58 metres for female
