WANDERERS HAMMERS THE SERVANT TO CLAIM THE Drive SEAT OF LOG TABLE

Ekhaya Mighty Mukuru Wanderers have stunned Lilongwe based giants, Civil Service United by two goals to nil this afternoon at Kamuzu stadium to open the 2023 TNM ipatse moto supper league on a high note.

It was Christopher Kumwamba who stunned his former house on 25th minutes on an easy goal after receiving a ball in the box of Civil.
On 33 minutes before close of the first half, Mark Botoman doubled the Wanderers lead on Sanud's freekicks which was also a winning goal.

Ft: referee blows a whistle to mark the end of the game as the teams shared single point this afternoon.

It was Lanjesi Nkhoma of Bullets who was on target on the 39 minutes of the first half and Mwase source an equilise on 47 minutes of the second half.

MATOLA DENILS THE NEW FIGURES FROM ETHIOPIA - EGYPT GROSS

Football Association of Malawi, FAM Marketing manager Limbani Chrifold Matola has denied the allegation that the Afcon game of Ethiopia and Egypt played at Bingu National Stadium accumulated MK74 Million which is more than Malawi- Ethiopia gross.

According to Matola the Ethiopians game against Pharaohs which ended in favour of Ethiopia by 2 goals to nil was MK54 Million.

He attributed the gross gate accumulation difference depends on the strength of the team locally and internationally, Economic factor the Country and difference in the cost of tickets.

He made this remarks after football fans pointed finger on the board that there are some shoplifters who are on frontline to stole gate collections on Malawi against Ethiopia last Sunday at Bingu Nation stadium.

"Allow me also to highlight that the value of revenue one can generate from a football match is largely dependent on strength of the teams involved.

For example Mighty Tigers vs Nyasa Big Bullets at Kamuzu Stadium can not be compared to Mighty Tigers vs TN Stars at the same venue.

Egypt is a 'big team', actually number 2 in Africa.

The author therefore has made wrong comparative analysis which is unfortunately grossly misleading.

For match day ticket revenue, Malawi vs Ethiopia grossed K72.7 million whilst Ethiopia vs Egypt grossed K54.7 million

With this fact above expect the match between Malawi and Egypt in Ethiopia to be premiumly priced probably more than Ethiopia vs Egypt," he said.

To mitigate money embezzlement on next Afcon game Flames will host against Egypt in September, Matola said FAM has already started selling tickets.

"Currently, we have already sold out Perimeter advertising for our match against Egypt in September at a value in excess of US$77,000," said Matola

Matola added that the game of Ethopia against Egypt had higher gate fee in comparing to Flames game. This can also another factor made the Ethiopians to go home with a smile face.

" Bear in mind that Ethiopia against Egypt match was premiumly priced compared to Malawi against Ethiopia .For instance, K3,000 for standard ticket against K2,000, K15,000 for VIP against K8,000 and K20,000 for Corporate box seat against K10,000." He added.
