Check out our 2005 film Himalayan Dreams as we celebrate the 15th anniversary of Maldivian photographer Muha’s extraordinary trek to Mount Everest, Nepal, and Tibet. The film premiered at the 2006 Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival KIMFF and has inspired many Maldivians to trek in the Nepal Himalaya. Muha is the sixth Maldivian to summit a 5600 metres peak and Himalayan Dreams is the first known documentary to record a Maldivian ascent of such an elevation.

The century old Maldivian tradition of women's mosques and female imaams may soon vanish forever. But Hulhevi Media in 2011 recorded it in a short film and we are happy, today, to upload the clip about an imaam and her mosque. Please share, comment, and spread word about a unique Maldives custom now under threat.

Dhuvaafaru, Maldives: an island of our own (all documentary)

Twelve years ago this morning the greatest natural disaster in the country's history hit Maldives leaving 82 people dead and thousands homeless.
This film, made for The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in 2008 is one of our biggest and most eye-opening productions, filming on six islands documenting the lives of families trying to come to terms with reality. Take 45 minutes of your time to see how one moment of relentless nature turned around the lives of almost 4000 people.
The tsunami destroyed Raa Kandholhudhoo displacing the entire population to nearby islands. IFRC undertook their largest construction project yet building an island from scratch to provide permanent housing for the people of Kandholhudhoo.
