Over the course of time, talented and potential individuals have been found all over Maldives performing in cramped, dimly lit cafes and restaurants or occasional minor shows or local festivals. PROJECTISLE is a community of talented artists and potential musicians encompassing a wide range of contemporary electronic music. We are music fans, tech-geeks, vinyl junkies and regular gig goers. One of
the biggest hurdles faced by talented musicians is poor exposure. Being fortunate to have an incredibly dedicated team that shares the passion for the art to create a universal language that transcends barriers and institutions, we aspire to create a consistent base for artists to affiliate with one another within or outside of the project. We aim to provide an unbiased platform, a link between those working in the industry and those who seek it. In 2014 we decided to dedicate ourselves to Project Isle; a community for local underground electronic artists. We want to establish and create a steady stream of live performances and inspire original electronic music from local talents. But above all a passion, enthusiasm and dedicated commitment to the artists we work with. ProjectIsle mainly consists of local self-taught DJ’s and producers of Maldives. Our dream is to be exposed and accepted as part of the music scene in Maldives and to be recognised internationally. We hope to step in and become an influential community that eventually breaks down the bar. As with our new venture, we hope to overcome our obstacles and reach our objective. This is an electrifying journey for all of us to learn from and succeed.
