Walking around in Barcelona

The stretch of sea visible from this location is one of the 18 Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) found around the Maltese Islands. This MPA known as 'Iz-Zona fil-Bahar ta' madwar Ghawdex' is a Special Protection Area (SPA) designated for the protection of the seabirds;Yelkouan Shearwater and the Scopoli's Shearwater, under the EU Birds Directive. These seabirds nest8along the surrounding cliffs, which are also protected sites due to the presence of these colonies.
