Good Afternoon all you amazing souls...well done to all you amazing Carers who managed to keep strong through 2023 in continuously caring an rehabilitating your loved ones who are suffering Brain injury...you are true warriors in your journey...finding strength, courage, patience , resilience...coping with the responsibilities especially if your the only support of care /rehabilitation at home for your loved one suffering brain injury while also dealing with the dramatic changes to your loved one, family dynamics and your life......Let me remind you just how fantastic and amazing you are...There is not enough awareness surrounding Brain Injury and the devestating impact it as on the victims...and also their loved ones & families..
Lack of awareness..Lack of Support..Lack of understanding...
Not only is the victim living the nightmare of the injuries sustained...but their Partners/carer.& Families are living a nightmare too..

Relationships can an do crumble...with pressures of
Lack of resources available..
Family / relationship an character changes
Financial strain
Physical.stain
Emotional strain
Relationship strain
The list is endless....

Journey of the unknown...only if you are or have personally experienced the journey as a partner/ Carer can you fully begin to understand how traumatic, demanding and stressful.the journey really is...it is without predudice..but sadly some journeys dont end well.....Relationships deteriorate...leaving their loved ones / carers totally exhaused from the Experience of Caring with no support and with the added responsiblity of all family issues and situations.....an then some victims are left feeling abandoned when their relationships may often come to an end due to the impact an strain....
More Experienced support and understanding is needed to pave way for more positive outcomes.. guidance help and support for both Carers and victims are limited.....leaving the loved one /carer to cope rehabilitate an care for the victim on their own....

Hey there all you beautiful.Partners/Carers.....hope you are all doing well and coping ok.....be sure to remind yourself how amazing you are..how strong and resiliant you are..how your facing your challenges of the day with determination.......i know its not an easy task with so much to do every day when looking after your loved ones suffering a brain injury.....you dont have the time for yourself...your way too busy to stop.an have the time to reflect on things...you just continue to looking after your loved ones and all the days tasks Role and duties needed to get through another day..
People continually ask me how did i manage to.cope an deal with the changes to my life as partner/carer an to the changes in my then partner of 12 years at the time...Good Question...but Sadly itsTotally Irrelevent to those people who have never experienced it..they would never even begin understand...only Empathise ...
Its was no walk in the park.......its.a jourmey that no.one would ever want to experience...and its a journey full of ups/ downs...good /bad...highs/ lows...happiness / sad......your life is changed forever no.matter how you look at it.....Life Changing is an Understatement...but its not all doom.an gloom......every single positive step.closer to your loved ones recovery brings many blessings..regardless of what lies in store for your future ahead...
So im here to remind all you Partners/carers ...you are beyond amazing..you aid carer and rehabilitate your loved ones daily with no thought for self.......no shoulder to lean on ,no one to.vent to....no one to completely understand your journey...so never ever doubt your self worth.....if you ever need to chat or vent...

Hello to all the amazing people out there who are caring for a loved one who is suffering a Severe TBI...you are true warriors....
Your life is so different now...everything as completely changed from what your life was...your functioning on auto pilot most of the time..24/7 carer.....first step is to come to terms with your circumstances..???...Really easy for someone to say when they are not in your situation or shoes....but the journey....your journey as carer ,provider,decision maker ect is just getting started....ignorance is bliss for the on lookers...welcome to your new life...living with a stranger ...the person you once new.gone to be replaced with someone who acts different talks different reacts different..total character changes so obvious to you its beyond explanation.....then there is You....you dont stop to think about yourself as your way too busy looking after the survivor.only after you have managed to get your loved one to a place of stability and independance after what is a very demanding and very long journey do you stop to reflect...and thats if your lucky enough in getting the survivor to that stage of recovery....The Reality Then Slaps You Right in the Face..your life is different..your partner is different....The aftermath is just the beginning.of your new life....Carers are lacking the
Guidance, Support,Empathy and Complete understanding ..your just thrown into a life of trauma chaos dread,worry, Anxiety and uncertainty...like being Blindfolded in the dark...no.light no help
Brainstorm Reachout was founded by myself Beverley Denton....after going through the very lonely journey of being the carer myself in caring for A partner who suffered as severe brain injury..with no one to guide or help me through ..the journey is like no.other...you are on your own..... so i made one promise to myself that when or if i made it through i would make it my mission to support guide and mentor others in.helping them.cope strategise manage and support them in their journey while caring for their loved ones who suffer brain injury.....You are Not Alone...You Are Important Too.Your Health needs to be a priority ...so many families are going through a journey like this totally Blindsided to the devestating concequences.it as on partners an families...the support needs..risk factors family dynamics...financial stress ect..the list is endless..

THE LONELY JOURNEY FOR THE CARERS OF A BRAIN INJURY SURVIVORS....Hello all you beautiful souls.. all the carers out there who are going through challenges..you are amazing....there is alot to process when your left to care for a loved one who as suffered a brain inJury....The Care system does not prepare you for the journey and of what lies ahead...
First your dealing with the shock of what as happened...but what you dont realise is your journey is just getting started...
You have many hats to wear ,roles to forfill and family issues to face..being the Carer and loved one of brain injury survivor.....sadly this is overlooked ...and all the focus is on getting the survivor on a productive an positive road for recovery....although it is paramount and extremely important not to lose sight of this fact.......your life and partner is totally changed and in the journey the partners/carers & family members forget that your health and wellbeing is important too...
Carers and Family members deal with many challenges alone....only if you have experienced such a situation..would you fully understand...only from personal experience did i realise how challenging;demanding;stressful and lonely that journey was...so much could of helped me while going through the journey but support was extremely limited and also not readily available...
You the partner/carer provide the 24/7 Support at home for the survivor.and also you have to constantly monitor changes with the survivor an also elliminate any Risk to them.or yourself too...Situations an problems which maybe could of been handled better or even avoided if the right support an knowledge from someone with personal experience was available to support an guide sadly this is not available......Dont get me wrong..the nurses and doctors where absolutely amazing looking after the survivor while in hospital...but on returning home thats where you are left with the aftermath.and the reality that your life is no longer as it was.......Your lonely Carer journey is just getting started....but it really does not need to be that way...with the right knowledge preparation support and guidance as you the carer we can make sure your wellbeing an health is looked after too......if you like this post...please share an follow My page Brainstorm Reachout.....you are not alone..you can whatsap or email me.. all my details are on my page...i am always.here to Listen Support and guide...Godbless You All...🙏❣️

Update...its been a few months since we last posted on here...but we have had so much happen since Oct 2020...challenge after challenge on top off the covid situation ...its been crazy...but we are still here and from challenge we see and witness the positives in our situation.. ...so here goes...colin is doing really well...hes very mobile and independent...the medications are still ongoing although they have slowly been reduced hes responding well and remains constantly stable ..Colin's bodily injuries have healed well but .the damage is very significant regarding his brain injury...his character is somewhat a mixture of colin and a stranger..but considering the injuries and that he was fighting for his life...hes defo doing amazing.. .hes come a very long way from where he was...on the 14th Oct 2020 colin returned to part time work...with the same employers but different job role...he works 8 till 12. mon to Friday in the works factory on light duties.. .hes achieved so much since his accident...recovery is a very slow process but hes doing amazing....we are working on routine ..and also fitness so it's all positive....We had so many things thrown at us since October..but never ever once did it take us away from our journey for Colin's recovery...we just battled through it all...we are surely blessed...Keep going Big guy..you should be so proud of your continued recovery...your doing fantastic ..every step big or small is a blessing....positivity is the key....🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤

Update..colin continues to progress steadily...but due to alot of personal family .things happening over the past 3 weeks hes not attended physio but is hoping to restart them shortly ...colin as now had his medication reduced ..hes responding well..had a few minor hick ups but nothing thats been constant ..so hes levelling out pretty well now .The surgeons have allowed colin to have a beer...not plenty.. just the odd one or two is ok..so hes tried a beer and celebrated Arsenal winning the carabu cup..🤣🤣..hes still recovering slowly...still has problems with his brain and memory.. ..but it's still early days regarding this..hes come a very long way from where he was and still continues to work on his recovery.. keep going big guy...you are doing great .🙏❤🙏❤

Colin is doing well..keeping up with his physio sessions....recovery process with brain injury still much the same ..but steadily working on it ..hes come along way physically....still mentally it's a testing journey.. but hes doing great
.recovery is a slow process it's all very challenging and draining for both colin and myself however we do have many good days.. an just try managing the not so good days with positivity an strength so that's the main .keep at it big guy .❤🙏❤🙏❤...life is a blessing not many people acknowledge ..we take so much for granted ..only when you have your life as you knew it to be taken from you .do you understand the value an concept of lifes true meaning...stay blessed people..love an live your life while you still have one...God Bless..🙏🙏❤❤❤❤

Colin as come so far in recovery..he suffered severe bodily and brain injury...his determination is amazing to witness..he as an amazing physio therapist...another physio session done today...well done big guy.. your doing fantastic..😁❤

When your caring for someone with brain injury...your life as you know it to be and the survivor changes completely.. the full dynamics of your relationship changes too. ..its far from easy ..hard for both survivor and carer especially if the survivor is your partner.. the person you know them to be is changed ,different in so many ways..its like your living with a stranger in alot of ways if I'm honest....you have to wake up every day with pure strength,understanding and compassion..as everyday can produce new challenges...in many ways....some days can be more positive than others.. ..its a journey which is unknown...you just got to keep strong and positive...we never know what lies ahead..we can only do our best to make each day count...always be thankful for what you have ....because it can be taken from you in a heart beat...🙏❤🙏❤

In September 2019 my partner colin was involved in bad road accident..causing bad bodily Injuries and also suffered severe brain injury...8 months on hes still.got a long way to go an still very much in recovery, I myself could not.go out to work as Colin's partner and carer I was needed to help him...
