How do we deliver our equipment? Usually clients pick up the hired items in our warehouse, they have a facility to test them before they actually rent them out, we are trying to help them to put the right parts together and make the whole rig work. What are the key legal aspects that client has to be aware? Does insurance have to be provided by the customer? Clients needs to insure the hired equipment from their side and they are responsible for all the damages and loss. Who are our clients? Our clients mostly are local producers and filmmakers but we are having requests from different segments of the globe as well. What are the main benefits of renting? Some of the benefits of renting equipment are fairly obvious. The cost of renting is typically much lower than the cost of buying and this becomes more relevant if it’s not something what you are going to use too often. Young filmmakers can’t really afford to buy these gears, being able to rent them for their short films or projects instead of having to purchase them for it is a tremendous benefit. These gears are expensive, it takes them years to pay off if there are not many projects to use them on and in the meantime they are getting older while new gears are coming out. Also keep in mind that different projects asks for different needs, you can’t really be prepared for every scenarios if you rely on your own gears only. How do we provide service and maintenance? Basically we do all the gear preps for the productions, before and after each rental we are going through all the hired bits and pieces, put them together to see if they work. If we find anything unusual, we change the part to an other and trying to fix the faulty one. If the problem is something what we can not fix in our facilities we need to get in touch with the service provider of the manufacturer and send the item back to them. We are cleaning our equipments after each return and keep them safe until the next rental. We are not only providing the gears for the shoots but offering on set services also. They can hire our staff through the company as a camera assistant/camera operator or as an on set technician. Things can go nuts on set easily, and any kind of problem needs urgent action to solve as production downtime is loss of money. Obviously it’s easier if our technician is on set, we know about some common issues or mistakes what people can do with these gears but even if we are not there and our clients having difficulties we are just a phone call away, whether if they call office hours or 2am during the weekends. We are trying to answer their questions or solve there problems at the soonest. If we can’t fix the defected part on set then there is still an option to bring it back to the warehouse and swap it to an identical one, so productions can continue working while we are repairing the broken part. Have a good shoot!
