Meet the filmmaker!

Alan BIDARD is an award-winning Martiniquan-French-Caribbean director specialising in animated short and feature length film with infusions of Afro Caribbean culture.

He has produced and directed animated feature and short films, animated series, documentaries and live-action films which won more than 200 awards and 400 nominations in festivals worldwide in the last 20 years. In 2015, he released the first animated feature film ever made in Martinique — “Battledream Chronicle”, winning 24 awards and 70 nominations worldwide. In 2018, he created the first Caribbean animated TV series, winning several 25 awards and earning numerous nominations worldwide.

🎥 Alan’s second animated award winning feature film, “Opal” will be featured at the upcoming Barbados Independent Film Festival in January 2024

Thank you so much, everyone, for this amazing year while OPAL was flying all around the world and let 2024 be the year when she finally lands in our homes and in our hearts. It's difficult to find the right words to express how much I'm grateful and happy. This film is so much bigger than me and I can't thank you enough for the success you gave it.
