Come for negotiations, NSCN leader tells ZUF
Noney, October 06 2025: The delay in reaching a final solution to the Naga political talk is due to issues related to "competencies and internal divisions among different Naga groups", Salemyang Gangmei-a member of the collective leadership of NSCN/GPRN-has said, calling on the Zeliangrong United Front/ZUF leadership to come forward fo: peaceful negotiations.
The Naga peace process is ongoing, but the delay in reaching a final solution is due to issues related to "competencies and internal divisions among different Naga groups", said Salemyang.
He said this at a consultation and interaction programme focused on the "Current Political Situation of the Naga" held at the community hall of Longmai-3 Baptist Church, located at Noney District Headquarters today.
In his address, Salemyang provided key insights into the current status of the Naga political dialogue.
He called upon the ZUF leadership to come forward for peaceful negotiations, emphasizing the importance of unity.
Salemyang further revealed that a new peace initiative has been taken up by the GPRNZ NSCN called "Olive Branches Mission," which aims to facilitate dialogue and reconciliation among Naga factions and groups.
Salemyang said he will serve as the in-charge of this mission for the Zeliangrong-Inpui Region.
L Gonmei, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Zeilad Zeliangrong Region, Gaibidim Kamei, Deputy Kilonser, KEYA Affairs and representatives of many organisations including RNCM, RNLPM, RNSOM, and RNYOM, as well as leaders and executives of the Village Council Longmai Area (VCLA), officials and personnel of NSCN Zeilad Region, intellectuals, Church leaders, social workers, village chairmen and secretaries, youths and student leaders attended the event.
The programme commenced with an opening prayer by Reverend Ngamdisin Kamei, Pastor of Longmai-3 Baptist Church.
Reverend Gaiphulung Gonmei, Pastor of Khumji-2 Baptist Church, led a special prayer for peace and unity among Naga brothers, and an early resolution to the Naga political issue.
The consultation and interaction programme served as a crucial platform for dialogue to foster mutual understanding and collective commitment towards peace and political resolution within the Naga community.
