Ward’s lake in shillong
an artificial lake that attracts thousands of tourists today !

Sir William Ward, Assam's chief commissioner, designed the lake. Colonel Hopkins built it in 1894 after Fitzwilliam Thomas Pollok designed it. To escape his everyday routine, a Khasi prisoner created the lake area.
