The Kitchen Celebrates 19
During the Covid-19 Era
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MAY 5, 2020
MIAMI: Commemorating the start of its 19th year, The Kitchen calls for a celebration of its dedicated staff worldwide, operating under these most unusual conditions.
In addition to the gratitude we owe to our front line heroes at hospitals, first responders, supermarket and pharmacy workers and the courageous folks who deliver our food, packages and other essentials, we too have our own heroes who come to work every day, either at home offices, or recording studios and do their part to insure work is delivered to our clients with the highest standards and challenging schedules.
“The self-less tasks that our teams internationally have undertaken, in terms of securing safety and health in this Covid-19 era, in order to continue to deliver client’s projects on time, have been heartwarming and I applaud each and every effort made by of our team, resulting in a mostly uninterrupted work flow for delivery,” explained Ken Lorber, President/CEO of The Kitchen International.”
“From extraordinary efforts to sanitize our studios every hour, or after every session worldwide, to implementing high quality, at home recording studios that meet our strict standards, our teams have accomplished unprecedented feats, in a very short time,” Lorber added.
“The Kitchen has posted an update “Heat Map” regularly over the past 8 weeks, primarily to inform clients of any limits in capabilities at each of our 12 studio locations. Of course, our translation and subtitling teams, in all locations, are operating as usual,” Lorber commented. “This part of our daily operating procedures has always worked well remotely.”
“It is a bitter-sweet celebration of 19 years,” Ken Lorber stated. “Things have changed greatly in the past two decades. We began with 3 dubbing booths in Miami, and now have 17 fully equipped suites at our headquarter studios, with an additional 30+ suites worldwide, in 12 countries. We moved from tapes, to a digital world. We’ve won two Prime Time Emmy Awards for the development of our proprietary suite of software for translation, dubbing and subtitling, and an NAB Award for Best in Show. We’ve grown
from a 3-person operation, to a global staff of nearly 150 full-time employees, with hundreds of free-lance translators, adaptors, mixers and talent. Although our focus this year is not on our birthday, it IS on the exceptional efforts of our team to keep The Kitchen strong during this most unprecedented of times around the globe,” Lorber concluded.
