The Al Akhawayn Short Film Festival is organized by the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane

The Al Akhawayn Short Film Festival is a yearly event organized by the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane in collaboration with the Moroccan Short Film Festival of Rabat. With a jury made up of professional filmmakers and faculty, the ASFF is an opportunity for AUI students to showcase their technical and creative skills in a prestigious and rewarding shor

t film competition. In addition to the competition, the ASFF will also host two panel discussions revolving around award winning short films in the presence of the filmmakers. Mission

The ASFF aims at creating a platform where AUI students are recognized for their artistic, creative and technical skills and exposed to the film making industry.

Dear student filmmakers in the Middle East & Africa, the deadline to complete your registration is December 15th. The registration fee is 100dhs. BUT if you get 3 student filmmakers to sign up for the competition and submit their films, your registration will be free. All you have to do is share your registration code with the 3 student filmmakers who you are recommending. We can’t wait to see your amazing stories.

At ASFF, we encourage the youth to create content for a big audience but we never imagined that our official selection for this 6th edition would have the chance to shake the minds and hearts of people beyond the festival goers. In fact, Aflamin, Nabil Ayouch’s moroccan streaming platform, decided to spotlight the official selection allowing them to be known throughout the world. So check out Aflamin in a few months to watch and support our talented student filmmakers.

That’s what Sigm’art did by offering direct access to the Kounwa3er finale and to the filmmaking bootcamp. Some of the sweet moments from the first day of Al akhawayn’s short film festival.
What a wonderful experience!
Big thanks to Rachid el Ouali for showing up and sharing his experience. Also we would love to thank the jury « Amira Azzouzi », « Sofia Alaoui », and « Sonia Okacha » that were there and enlightened the stage with their presence.
We also had the chance to watch all the participant’s short films and they were all GREAT!! Join us on saturday the 29th to watch the award ceremony.

... avec Saad Bennani, organisateur du Festival du Court Métrage Marocain de Rabat, et l'Ecole des Sciences Humaines et Sociales de l'Université Al Akhawayn à Ifrane. Le Al Akhawayn Short Film Festival (ou ASFF) est né de l'envie de créer une plateforme pour les jeunes étudiants qui feront le cinéma Marocain de demain.

Pour faire simple ASFF c'est:

1. Récompenser le talent et la créativité des étudiants du Maroc à travers une compétition estudiantin de court-métrages dans 4 catégories: fiction, documentaire, clip musical et publicité. Les gagnants de chaque catégorie reçoivent des prix et cadeaux, ainsi que des certificats signés par un jury de réalisateurs renommés au Maroc et dans le monde. ASFF a invité tous les étudiants du Maroc à se battre pour le titre du “Meilleur Etudiant Réalisateur de l’Année”. Rejoignez nous à Ifrane du 14 au 17 Mars 2018 pour découvrir qui gagnera la compétition.

2. Découvrir des films primés. En deux ans, le Al Akhawayn Short Film Festival a accueilli Kamal Hachkar (Tinghir Jerusalem les Echos du Mellah), Adil El Fadili (Courte Vie), Narrimane Faqir (Leurs Nuits), Ghouti Lakhdar (5 minutes), Othman Naciri, (Sin Palabras, 37Km Celsius), Younes Yousfi (Houkak), Mahassine El Hachadi (Postcard), Mohamed Abderrahman Tazi (Badis), et Raja Sadikki (Yemken, Parole aux Citoyens).
