Mūziķi bela un SABIWA jau šobrīd īsteno radošu rezidenci Madonas mākslas galerijā Maboca gallery Visuma Centrs 2. 18. maijā tur koncertu formā tiks prezentēti sadarbībā ar latviešu māksliniekiem un mūziķiem radītie jaundarbi, savukārt līdz pat 28. jūnijam būs skatāma arī rezidences laikā sagatavota izstāde.

Rezidenci atbalsta Eiropas Savienības atbalstītā platforma SHAPE platform, kā arī Erica Synths.

Musicians bela and SABIWA are currently in residency at Madona's art gallery Visuma Centrs 2. Their collaborations with Latvian musicians and artists will be presented in concert form on May 18, and will also run in the form of an exhibition until June 28.

The residency is supported by the EU co-funded SHAPE+ platform and Erica Synths.

Fixed media listening sessions will take place in an immersive spatial sound environment – inside a hemisphere dome structure, (10 meters in diameter and 5 meters in height), equipped with 36 channel sound system. All sound pieces have been produced for the multichannel playback to provide the audience with an ultimate immersive sound experience.

SWRL offers a programme of innovative sound works that materialized in the Complementary Contradictions project – a collaborative environment where several music composers teamed up with quantum physics researchers to produce conceptual sound pieces that are now offered for your listening pleasure.

The Complementary Contradictions project was launched last year by the Visionary Culture Foundation, in partnership with the Danish Cultural Institute and Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen to commemorate the centennial of Niels Bohr's receipt of the Nobel Prize in Physics.

The annual spatial sound festival – SWRL – is organised by the Visionary Culture Foundation. SWRL is a platform for contemporary music, performed within an immersive multichannel sound environment.

Hello friends and family! We have good news -- on May 16 and 17, team organizes two concerts and four fixed-media listening sessions, marking the first steps of the upcoming spatial audio touring dome!

For now our immersive audio dome have 21 speaker array, it can host around 40 people at once. We are using tools to create and distribute (listen) the spatial audio content.

Some days ago at Liepājas koncertzāle Lielais dzintars / Concert hall Great Amber together Platon Buravicky we calibrated and tested our 21 speaker portable system and all went well.

Thanks to John Hurt from Zip Tie Domes www.ziptiedomes.com for guiding us thru the geodesic dome creating and building process and mega thanks to Mantautas Krukauskas!

Meanwhile we have started to work on public (test) activities for our upcoming ambisonics / immersive audio touring dome. More details will follow shortly, but mark the dates: 13.05. installation by Platon Buravicky @ Concert hall Great Amber, Liepāja; 16.05 and 17.05. listening sessions created by Sofia Zaiceva, Zane Dombrovska and Otto Iivari + two concerts for piano and electronics by Platon Buravicky @ Tu jau zini Kur., Riga.

"This is a cassette tape recording of the Latvian electronic dance music radio show "Defekts". This particular emission was dedicated to Latvian Beat - DIY dance music phenomenon comprising tracks of Latvian DJs, musicians and MCs created circa 1989-1993. Most of these tracks were based on reel-tape edits overdubbed with rapping or singing. Latvian Beat reel-tape compilations were made and circulated mostly among DJs at the time. Eventually, some of these tracks ended up in the compilation "Latvian Beat" put together by Uģis Kārkliņš aka MC Uncle U and released by Microphone Records in 1993. www.discogs.com/release/9248971-Various-Latvian-Beat

m.a.t.a.d.a.t.a. is the dance / not dance moniker by Latvian electroacoustic musician, film, and theater composer Toms Aunins. The music of m.a.t.a.d.a.t.a. "U" was initiated by a sound score for Neona pavasaris / Neon Spring -- a feature film by Matīss Kaža and produced on local (Latvian-built) Erica Synths Techno System.

After almost five years of silence, we are adding a new record to our archive. It's a spontaneous decision, but maybe, this will be a fresh start for our label. Nobody knows, only time will tell.
