The latest Wire’s Global Ear looks into the influence of NSRD on the current Riga underground scene as well as the latest releases by my sound project Figūras. Through the doors of Bolderāja and the cassettes published by Michael Holland and Sāpes Skaņas label by Roberts Šūmanis who has made an audible connections and webs that entangle ritunsiic and Aleksis Luriņš , Viktor Timofeev, Ug Ug Ugg Ugg and Uģis Jansons Krastiņš and also their joint release IGREK, STABS, Grab with Kārlis Tone, Spāre Vītola and many others. Massive gratitude to Daryl Worthington who listened to my ramblings and made a really insightful survey into the heart of Avotu street and beyond.

Mūziķi bela un SABIWA jau šobrīd īsteno radošu rezidenci Madonas mākslas galerijā Maboca gallery Visuma Centrs 2. 18. maijā tur koncertu formā tiks prezentēti sadarbībā ar latviešu māksliniekiem un mūziķiem radītie jaundarbi, savukārt līdz pat 28. jūnijam būs skatāma arī rezidences laikā sagatavota izstāde.

Rezidenci atbalsta Eiropas Savienības atbalstītā platforma SHAPE platform, kā arī Erica Synths.

Musicians bela and SABIWA are currently in residency at Madona's art gallery Visuma Centrs 2. Their collaborations with Latvian musicians and artists will be presented in concert form on May 18, and will also run in the form of an exhibition until June 28.

The residency is supported by the EU co-funded SHAPE+ platform and Erica Synths.

Fixed media listening sessions will take place in an immersive spatial sound environment – inside a hemisphere dome structure, (10 meters in diameter and 5 meters in height), equipped with 36 channel sound system. All sound pieces have been produced for the multichannel playback to provide the audience with an ultimate immersive sound experience.

SWRL offers a programme of innovative sound works that materialized in the Complementary Contradictions project – a collaborative environment where several music composers teamed up with quantum physics researchers to produce conceptual sound pieces that are now offered for your listening pleasure.

The Complementary Contradictions project was launched last year by the Visionary Culture Foundation, in partnership with the Danish Cultural Institute and Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen to commemorate the centennial of Niels Bohr's receipt of the Nobel Prize in Physics.

The annual spatial sound festival – SWRL – is organised by the Visionary Culture Foundation. SWRL is a platform for contemporary music, performed within an immersive multichannel sound environment.
