Kazdanga Park is the largest in Latvia (~196 ha), so you can go jogging, running, biking, skiing, or simply walking here, slowly enjoying nature and the historical park.
The park has 2 parts (part of the Valata park and Šefer's grove), which are connected by the lake bridge built over the Kazdanga Dzirnezeru.
With the construction of the new lake footbridge and observation tower, visitors have an excellent opportunity to combine the nature trails in both parts of the park (part of the Valata park and Šefer's grove) on both sides of the Kazdanga Dzirnezer and take a route with a total distance of 9km

Kazdang was first mentioned in historical sources in 1350, when it was staged for the Vigant brothers

The mill lake and mill were built in 1840, they have been completely rebuilt and only the outer facade gives a small glimpse of those times, whereas the mill dam is very well preserved. Dzirnezer, or mill pond, has been floated on the Alokste river and there are many springs in its bottom and banks, the depth is not the same. there are always many ponds in the territory of Kazdanga Park, because Kazdanga was the first place where pond farming started around 1870.

Līdz ar jaunās ezera laipas un skatu torņa izbūvi, apmeklētājiem ir pavērusies lieliska iespēja apvienot dabas takas abās parka daļās (Valāta parka daļa un Šēfera birzs) abpus Kazdangas Dzirnezera un iziet maršrutu ar kopējo distanci 9km

Kazdangas vēstures avotos pirmoreiz minēts 1350. gadā, kad to izlēņoja brāļiem Vīgantiem

Dzirnezers un dzirnavas būvētas 1840. gadā, tās ir pilnībā pārbūvētas un tikai ārējā fasāde sniedz nelielu ieskatu par toreizējiem laikiem, turpretī dzirnavu dambis ir ļoti labi saglabājies. Dzirnezers jeb dzirnavu dīķis ir uzpludināts uz Alokstes upes un tā dzelmē un krastos ir daudz avotu, dziļums ir nevienāds. pastāvīgi Kazdangas parka teritorijā ir daudz dīķu, jo Kazdanga bija pirmā vieta ,kur ap 1870. gadu sāka nodarboties ar dīķsaimniecību.

Windy city sunsets are always something special..

Karosta, also Karaosta or Kara osta, is a part of the city of Liepāja. Liepāja's Karosta occupies about a third of the total area of the city in its northern part. The construction of Karosta cost 45 million golden rubles.
The Karosta canal was one of the first structures in the entire Karosta complex. Floating dredges were used to dig the canal.
In 1901, the canal was completed and received the first ships. The branch of the canal was designed as a basin for ships and submarines, there was a ship repair factory with one floating and two dry docks. In Soviet times, there was a submarine base in the Karosta Channel.
There is an empty submarine hangar at the end of the canal near the ship repair factory. The Karosta or Oskar Kalpak bridge over the Karosta canal is a unique engineering monument. It is the only bridge of metal constructions that has been preserved in Latvia.
It was discovered in 1906.
The bridge was blown up during the First World War, but restored after the war. During the first independent state of Latvia, the famous Latvian aviator Herberts Cukurs flew under the lower arch of the bridge.
In Soviet times, you could cross the bridge to Karosta only with special permits and only a few hours a day, the rest of the time the bridge was open for warship traffic.
In the summer of 2006, the tanker "Anna" sailing under the Georgian flag crashed into the northern abutment of the bridge, destroying the bridge. The bridge was renovated and has been in operation since August 28, 2009.

1880. gadā iela tika nodēvēta par godu Liepājas pilsētas galvas Kārļa Gotlība Uliha vārdā, 1940. gadā tā tiek pārdēvēta par Viestura ielu, bet 1942. gadā atkal par Uliha ielu. 1945. gadā iela ieguva Uzvaras ielas nosaukumu. Mūsdienās to atkal sauc par Uliha ielu.
