On the late evening of Sunday 30 May 1976, massive gas explosions shook Luxembourg City.
Caused by a simple human mistake, the explosions claimed three lives, injured many, and left a community devastated.
Today, a memorial plaque on Rue du Pont, not far away from the panoramic lift in Pfaffenthal, commemorates the catastrophe.
