We had a great time hosting our first guest on Youtube channel last June!

Anna Szałucka is an exciting Polish pianist recognized for her exceptional musicality, intense virtuosity and unique character of playing. The most important aspects of her work include cross-arts productions, education and finding new formats for classical music concerts. 2021 saw the birth of the Piano Phase Project which brings music installations to contemporary venues helping people from all walks of life to connect with and make music. Piano Phase Project is represented by City Music Foundation in London. Anna is also a co-founder and pianist in the Bukolika Piano Trio which takes on a role of Artists in Residency at the Tenterden Music Society in Kent.

Hi 👏 we are back! We took a little break as we had two concerts in Lithuania, where PianoBuffs is based. We had so much fun performing masterworks of Debussy, Ravel, Liszt and Bach-Busoni. This week we are back to working on new videos. Stay tuned!

We are so happy to celebrate Anna’s performance at PianoBuffs 👏 She is the first pianist to be featured in this global piano community.

Anna Szałucka is a Polish pianist living in London. After studying at the Royal Academy of Music under Ian Fountain and later being mentored by Dame Imogen Cooper, she won the First Prize together with four Special Awards at the 3rd Tallinn International Piano Competition in 2016. In 2022 Szałucka released her newest solo album “The Houglass” with the October House Records. Her previous albums include release with Naxos, celebrating Polish music of the twentieth century and including a world premiere of Górecki’s Piano Sonata and Four Trumpet Sonatas after Mozart released by LINN together with trumpetist Jonathan Freeman-Attwood. Meet PianoBuffs co-founder Robertas 📣

Robertas regularly performs as a soloist with world-class orchestras and has played with the Lithuanian National Symphony, Royal Scottish National, Moscow State Symphony. Robertas particularly focuses on chamber music, as well as giving solo recitals, enjoying various styles of music, and engaging in pedagogical activities - he is one of the teachers of the National Students' Academy (NMA) in Lithuania.

He is a co-founder of "Trio Agora". The trio has just released their new album “Hotel Tango”!

Since the birth of PianoBuffs platform, Robertas became a passionate Youtuber 🤩💯

Robertas is sharing his memories about the last video we published.

"This is a very special piece for me. I've first heard it 11 years ago while reading "Rachmaninoff's Recollections" by Oskar von Riesemann (1934). It is by far the best book about Rachmaninoff's life that I know of, so I highly recommend you checking it out if you're into Rachmaninoff!

I have since made several attempts at learning this piece, but have only now managed to bring it to the level where I felt comfortable performing it in public. Although it's written rather pianistically (as most of Rachmaninoff's music), it is quite challenging to perform because of its rich polyphonic textures. Nevertheless, it is one of my favorite pieces of piano music so I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do ❤"
