We have Young political actors now moving towards the Economic Freedom Fighters of Liberia . Our EFFL Diaspora chapter is planning a massive fundraiser outside of Liberia and we are expected to tour the US next year with Liberians. Yes!

Title: Fix the Price, Don’t Reject the Yellow Equipment Deal

We have noted with concern the calls by some Liberians, including lawmakers, for the rejection of the Yellow Equipment deal. Such calls are not only unpatriotic but also detrimental to our nation's progress. Are you aware of the deplorable state of roads across the country? Since our independence in 1847, our rural populations continue to struggle with limited access to markets.

Poverty is rampant, and our citizens cannot access hospitals and schools in a timely manner. The persistence of primitive farming methods is largely due to the lack of proper equipment. Why do some celebrate the suffering of our people but rush to them for support during elections?

Collective Action Beyond Politics

The President is committed to addressing these long-standing issues. His ambition and dedication to improving the lives of our people are evident. Within just six months, the President has established the Office of the WCC and the Ombudsman and has transparently published his assets. He plans to engage with ambassadors and international partners to reaffirm his commitment to adhering to proper procedures for awarding contracts to both foreign and local companies.
These initiatives are beginning to build trust in our governance, though complete confidence is still a work in progress.

Addressing the Yellow Equipment Price

While we agree that the deal is beneficial, concerns about the cost are valid. It is essential to negotiate fair pricing with the vendor through the proposed contract. The overheard quoted price of US$67 million seems excessive for the entire project. Based on our research and quotations, the total project cost should be around US$26 million, including financing costs since it's a loan. Trucks and tractors should not be priced at the level of the Yellow Equipment.

"When the Unconscious Minds are in Government"

Campaigning in a poor environment like Liberia is often complicated due to the lack of ideological philosophy in the politics of Liberia. The financially capable but ideologically unimpressive elements within the political environment control the narratives through cash influence. At some point, the masses we struggle for will call them good names such as "Talk and Do" or "Development King" because of the small cash spent.

These unconscious or economic rascals are usually celebrated by the semi-intelligentsia class, which in a refined democracy is considered the intellectually bankrupt generation. Those in this category pose a risk to any democracy due to their lack of knowledge about governance but would find the courage to create debates in communities that experience a lack of information.

In Liberia, they are the closest medium through which puppet political messages are unleashed on our people. Their political positions on governance issues are not backed by logic but rather by street perceptions spewed out by uninformed gossipers.

Sadly, conscious revolutionaries like HB, Prof. Alaric Tokpa, and others are all victims of this age-old political miscarriage perpetuated by unconscious elements within the political space as a result of cash influence among our people.

As a result, reactionaries of the highest order progress to luxury, using politics to develop themselves individually against the holistic interest of the state. For them, political campaigns are a form of corporate investment that requires a return on investment. Once they hold a position in government, those who helped them are considered useless. They pretend to love our people only during the power struggle, but not after obtaining power. This is sad, and we must correct this by giving power to progressive forces.

Justice in Chambers His. Honor Yussif D. Kaba has declined to issue a writ of Prohibition prayed for by Gracious Ride Inc.
By virtue of this ruling, the Asset Recovery and Property Retrieval Team, will take immediate possession of all vehicles belonging to Gracious Ride Inc.
