Meet Abraham Daniels, a distinguished Liberian born to the union of Lamine F. Daniels and Frances Daniels.
Abraham's journey has taken him through the realms of business, soccer, and education. After graduating, he had brief but impactful stints with Marconi & Sons on Randall Street and Karmer Shipping, where he served as a tally clerk. With his diverse talents, he later joined HAJA (Gardnersville FC) from Pearl FC, thanks to the recommendation of veteran footballer Morris Dukuly, who is currently in Kenya.
Abraham began his educational journey at the Jimmy Jolocon School on Somalia Drive, where he graduated at the age of 17 in 2005.
His first season in soccer proved to be challenging, as he faced tough teammates, including the current photography guru Sam Ponthia Jadoe. Initially, it was difficult to cope, but the team eventually transitioned from Haha to Gardnersville FC after the current FA President, Mr. Mustapha, acquired the team.
Under the guidance of the late Coach Dominic Vava George (2 Nation), a former Lonestar coach, Gardnersville FC triumphed by winning the 2nd Division Championship. The team also achieved a commendable 3rd place finish in the 2010 FA Cup, despite being defeated by IE 2-0.
During a pre-season trip to Sierra Leone, Abraham sustained an injury in Freetown that sidelined him for ten months. Fortunately, he received treatment from a renowned herbalist in Margibi, thanks to Mr. Raji.
Returning in 2011, Abraham made a few appearances, but ongoing knee issues ultimately ended his soccer career. Unable to compete at the same level as his peers, he was appointed as deputy manager and transitioned from player to official. Eventually, he became the Team Manager of Gardnersville FC after his boss, the late Francis Weagba (Didier), moved on to a full-time role at James AA Pierre.
As Team Manager, Abraham was responsible for recruiting players for Gardnersville FC, successfully promoting the best talents to the senior team (LISCR). Notable signings included Ashley Williams, Albert Kallon (currently with LPRC), Price Bono LISCR, and Henry Lloyd of Bea Mountain, all of whom made him proud.
Seeking a new challenge, Abraham resigned from his beloved Gardnersville FC and transitioned to MCDAN Shipping Company, where he now serves as Operations Update/Clearing & Forwarding.
Abraham lives by the motto: "Always do the right thing, even when no one is watching." He poses an important question to fellow footballers: "After soccer, what's next?"
He feels honored to share his story. 🤝🙌
