Grand Gedeans descent on Police IG Georgory Coleman for allegedly not attending to the meeting describing his action as inappropriate.

Citizens from various sectors of Grand Gedeh County have
Placed their disappointment in Liberia National Police (LNP) Inspector General Gregory W. Coleman following his allege failure to attend a scheduled meeting with them on December 3, 2024, as Local leaders, Community Members, youth, and students in the area expressed their frustrations, calling the IG’s allege actions "disrespectful".

According to our Grand Gedeh County Reporter, the meeting was originally planned by IG Coleman to foster community policing and strengthen security partnerships. It was scheduled to take place at 1:00 PM on December 3, 2024, upon his arrival from Maryland County.

In readiness, the Liberia National Police Grand Gedeh Chapter, along with community leaders, assembled at Zwedru City Hall by 12:00 PM, eager to engage with the Inspector General.

However, to the surprise of those waiting, when IG Coleman arrived, he turned his back on the assembled crowd, citing an urgent call that required him to return to Monrovia.

This left the citizens in disbelief, with many feeling that his departure was an act of disrespect.

Meanwhile, all efforts exerted by our reporter to ascertain the views of IG Coleman proved abortive.

MDR Condemns Former President Weah for refusing to Shake VP Koung’s hand

Monrovia - Dec. 01, 2024 - The MDR and the Public Affairs Committee for the late Governing Council Chair, Sen. Prince Y. Johnson funeral is extremely disappointed in the latest behavior displayed by the former President, George M. Weah.

The former President resisted a handshake extended to him by the current Vice President , when the VP approached the Former President George M. Weah as the way to welcome him at the home of the late Senator.

The former President deliberately avoided shaking the hands of our two leaders of the county upon his arrival at Sen. Johnson residence in Paynesville.

As you might be aware, both traditionally and conventionally, extending handshake is our way of saying welcome and expressing gratitude to Visitors, well wishers and sympathizers.

It is noteworthy to mention that, such gross disrespect to any of our Leaders of Nimba County during our bereavement is also a disservice to the entire Nimba Community.

We believe that, if for the worst case scenario, President Weah has any political malice against the people of Nimba, he should not be portraying such extreme anger against our Leaders during these times of bereavement.
The MDR and the people of Nimba, strongly condemn such attitude coming from the former president towards two of her prominent sons and leaders.

Let it be known that the late Senator was a towering figure not only in Nimba but to Liberia at large, and at such, we strongly believe that his death should serve as a unifying force and not a recipe for division as displayed by the former president today.MDR Condemns Former President Weah for refusing to Shake VP Koung’s hand
