Residents of Glenyi-Luu Community woke up to the shocking discovery of the lifeless body of 25-year-old motorcyclist Patrick Nagbe, Jr. on Monday, December 2, 2024. Patrick, a resident of Guinea Road Community.
Following the discovery, community leader Mr. Charles Wondor immediately alerted the City Authority, who then informed the police.
Inspector Emmanuel Ziamo, Commander of the Crime Services Division (CSD) of Nimba County Police Zone One Base, led his team to the scene alongside a medical practitioner. The practitioner confirmed that the body was lifeless.
After the confirmation of the body being lifeless, Inspector Ziamo then requested a 15-man jury, composed of community dwellers, to examine the body. The jury concluded that Patrick was victim of an attack, having been shot at the back of the head with a single-barrel gun at a closed range. A shot was found in a deep hole in his head.
Some residents, who requested anonymity, reported hearing a gunshot in the neighborhood around midnight.
Peter Nagbe revealed that his brother had left home the previous evening for his usual motorbike traffic, stating that Patrick had briefly returned home before heading out again for his night hustle.
The incident has brought immense fear among residents, who are now calling for increased security.
The CSD has intensified its investigation, vowing to identify and bring the unknown perpetrators to justice.
The victim, the third child amongst three children was staying with his brother Peter and left behind his pregnant partner.
