Former Vice President and Standard Bearer of Unity Party, His Excellency Ambassador Joseph Nyuma Boakai, today met and held talks with Nimba County Senior Senator Prince Y. Johnson at his office in the Rehab Community, Paynesville City, near Monrovia.

The two political leaders, Amb. Boakai and Sen. Johnson, who is also the Founder of the Movement for Democratic Reconstruction (MDR) political party, greeted each other warmly even though they were not on the same side during the 2017 elections.

However, in the spirit of national reconciliation, Amb. Boakai has held meetings with other political leaders and therefore welcomed the visit of the Nimba Senator.

After pleasantries, the two well-known leaders then held critical discussions on matters of national concerns, including the upcoming 2023 Presidential and Legislative Elections.

The two leaders also discussed the current poor state of National Governance by the CDC-led government and the future of Liberia.

They both however agreed that at a later date, they will inform the public of the details to their discussions.

At the close of the meeting and on a warm handshake of brotherhood, both the Former Vice President and Senator Johnson promised they will continue their healthy consultations periodically as political events unfold in the country.

Joe Boakai and Cummings ticket almost seals..
Report says Members of the opposition (Joseph Boakai and Alexander Cummings) have almost completed talks leading to a full collaboration for the 10 October elections this year.

Our source disclosed that Alexander Cummings of the Alternative National Congress (ANC) has accepted to go as running mate to former Vice President Joseph Boakai for the Presidential ensuing Election.

According to our source, Mr. Cummings accepted the offer based on several conditions including equity distribution of jobs among the two parties and most importantly for the Former VP to run for only one term thus giving the ANC the opportunity to lead.

Breaking: Jospeh Boakai Jr Resigns From Weah’s Government

Joseph Boakai Jr, son of UP Standard Bearer Joseph N. Boakai has resigned from the Liberia Maritime Authority in a bid to support the campaign of his father.

Former Vice President Jospeh N Boakai is the leading opposition figure in Liberia and the Standard bearer of the immediate former ruling Unity Party.

Boakai Jr. served the Cooperate affairs department of the LMA prior to his resignation.

He told an OK FM interview that it is time he resigned from the institution to get actively involved with his Dad's campaign

Nimba Senator Prince Johnson says CDC government took over a country with US $ one hundred fifty million dollars reserve; challenges government to make public the turnover note

At a news conference on Thursday, the Nimba County lawmaker said he has seen the 2018 turnover note from the previous regime to the current, and observed that there was a net reserve of US$150 million.

The CDC government had repeatedly told the people of Liberia that it took over a broke nation, but has not been able to clearly state what was Liberia’s reserve when the regime took over from the Unity Party.

But Senator Prince Johnson challenged the President and the government to make public, the turnover note from the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf’s regime so that Liberians can have a clear understanding of what is in it.

Fresh report reaching us speaks of the deteriorating conditions of famous Liberian folktale musician and Professor, Jones Dopoe, alleged Father of President Weah.

Mr. Dopoe, a man famous for his song, 'Cassava Leave' is said to be currently living in a very appalling condition at his Duport Road residence in Paynesville, near the country's capital, Monrovia.

According to the report, the former Liberian professor can barely have a daily meal as he ages beyond God's approved grace period of the professed three scores and ten or seventy years.

Concerned Liberians who phoned into a local radio station early Monday (Jan.23, 2023) near Monrovia called on Liberians, in general, to go to the aid of the resourceful Liberian who is said to be losing grips with man's greatest and unseen enemy, death as a result of worsening conditions both health wise and financially.

Liberians phoning in on the Truth Breakfast Show (TBS) said, it is about time that Liberians both at home and abroad to cater to the illing Liberian folklore and a professor too, so as to restore his dignity.

They reminded Liberians and humanitarians as well as well-wishers to see reason in paying the famous musician good for good by quickly intervening in his situation.

It is reported that at present, family members of the illing Liberian educator want to take him to his home in Nimba County, but cannot afford the transportation fare for him since getting daily bread for him has become worrisome if not almost impossible.

The concerned Liberians are also calling for the upkeep of the Nimba County hitman as history and society are not being fair to him wealth-wise.

Angry motorcyclists in Grand Bassa County have set ablaze the only police depot at the St. John River Bridge at Buchanan City.

The angry crowd accused the Drug Enforcement Officers who were assigned at the police depot of embarrassing one of the motorcyclists, which led him to drown in the St. John River.

It is reported that Austin Davis, a motorcyclist jumped into the river for fear of being arrested by the LDEA officers.

Dear Leymah,

I read your letter addressed to officials of the Unity Party including me, dated January 16, 2023, via Facebook.

I am constrained to respond to you on Facebook knowing that you have never been inaccessible to me as I have never been in like manner. But I have to do this because you have chosen this medium to communicate your view on a matter you know little about and deffinately seems you dont care to know.

Regarding your Uncle Joe Boakai’s health, our values dictate that we are to empathize and wish well to those who are down and often give helping hands. But without reaching out to your Uncle Joe and not knowing much about his health status, you have taken upon yourself the role of a medical doctor to pronounce him as not being in the "position to contest" and proposing a “political merger” for the sole purpose of winning an election. This, I beleive is a well thought through political move which doesn't represent the purpose of "peace and development" as indicated by your post.

Your uncle Joe Boakai, like any human being, was sick, taken to the hospital as it is normally done when one falls sick and he is now well, discharged from the hospital, and home with his family awaiting full recovery. I believe that he looks forward to a niece's call or visit from you, whenever you are back in the country and other well-wishers.

Regarding your proposal for a political merger, please note that mergers are not the only way to do politics in 2023. There are collaborations and endorsements. The Unity Party is currently collaborating and remains engaged with several other political parties and individuals, some of whom have publicly declared support for your Uncle Joe's presidential bid ahead of the October polls. We are in several of these political arrangements and look forward to the full inclusion of every other Liberian who believes that President George Weah is both a political and a democratic error that must not be repeated in October. The Unity Party is fully cognizant of it's role and responsibility in rescuing this Country from what is a total collapse under the CDC regime and will do nothing to disappoint our people.
