Sad News 💔

The Liberia Annual Conference, of the United Methodist Church, sadly mourned the passing of one of its senior members early Monday morning at the St. Joseph Catholic Hospital in Monrovia.

Barely 11 hrs after the climax of the 191st Annual Session of the Liberia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church in Buchanan City, Grand Bassa County, the Communications Department of the LAC/UMC wishes to announce that one of our lead Participants in Former Representative Johnson Gwaikolo is dead.


The Former Representative successfully ended the 191st Annual Session and was engaged by some of our Reporters for a word or two relative to the conference but declined due to the unfavorable condition he was experiencing.

To our dismay, it was shocking to learn about the unbelievable news that Honourable Guaikolo is no more 😭 but with Faith, we believe that he has been received by the Angels of God 🙏

The former statesman served in various portfolios including President United Methodist University, President Monrovia District Men Organization, President Tubman United Methodist Church Men Organization, Member of the Strategy Commission, Deputy Minister of Public Works and Foreign Affairs amongst others.

May his Soul find a Repose in the Lord, Amen

As the United Methodist Churches across Liberia with Twenty (20) Districts and Two(2) Circuit Anticipate to Celebrates it 191st Annual gathering The Bishop's Cabinet had gather ahead to discuss progress and challenges that confronting the church.

The year end cabinet meeting of the Liberia Annual Conference, The United Methodist Church is held with Region One with host Grand Bassa District @ the First United Methodist Church.

According to the District Supretendent of Sinoe District Conference LAC/UMC and Dean of the Bishop's Cabinet Rev. S. Snoh Myers, Sr, said there are districts that are still going through challenges when it comes to pastors salary especially districts that are in the south east where pastors have to walk for over five to six hours to reach to their place of worship.

The 191st Annual session of the LAC/UMC that will takes place in Buchanan City from Feb 12-18 will bring together pastors, lay members, Deaconess, gonernment official, Conference guess home and abroad. your humble servant Bishop Samuel Jerome Quire, Jr. Resident Bishop will preside.
