Congratulations to Sineth Jayasundera, for being selected to represent Sri Lanka at the prestigious Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) competition in Brunei from December 4-7, 2024! 🇱🇰✨

Sineth’s innovative IoT project, designed to improve energy readers that exist in households, excelled at the Young Computer Scientist (YCS) competition and was recognized by FITIS, and has earned him this incredible opportunity to showcase his talents on the global stage.

⚽️Triple Championships for Gateway College in Football🏆
Gateway College Colombo once again demonstrated their dominance in the recently concluded Under-20 Inter-International Schools Football Tournament, held at Gateway College Ratmalana from October 25 to November 3. From the outset, Gateway showcased exceptional control, with their formidable midfield trio—Zaki Ashraff, Ahamed Hijaazy, and Aidan Perera—dictating possession. Their creative attacking play and relentless pursuit of goals resulted in an impressive 24 goals scored across the tournament, with Aidan Perera emerging as the tournament’s top scorer with six goals.

Today, with heavy hearts, we remember Eyn, a remarkable young woman whose talents and vibrant spirit brought light to our school. Eyn was a true all-rounder, excelling not only in sports but in all areas of life. Her energy, kindness, and unwavering commitment to her teammates and friends were truly unmatched.

To her family and friends, we extend our deepest sympathies. Please keep them in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.

Eyn, your memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew you. We will miss you deeply.

Recap of the amazing performances of our athletes at the All Island School Games Athletic Championship 2024

🎖Gateway Colombo Under 20 Girls (Shanella Seneviratne, Dhanani Kodithuwakku, Gimasha Shashini and Sithuli Saparamadu) established a new meet record of 48.22s. Incidentally this timing has gone down to the records as the fastest timing achieved by a Sri Lanka schools team.

🎖In addition, Shanella, Gimasha and Dhanani clean swept the podium in the Under 20 Girls 100m once again for the 2nd time at junior national level this year.

🎖Ashain Theverapperuma of GCC established 3 new meet records in the Under 14 Boys 100m, Long Jump and High Jump.

🎖Sakith Edirisinghearachchi of GCK established a new meet record in the Under 16 Boys 300m Hurdles.

🎖Nehansa Paranaliyanage of GCC won the Under 18 Girls 100m Hurdles.

🎖Gateway girls were placed overall 3rd for their outstanding performances throughout the meet.
