Syrian President Bashar Assad flees the country as his government collapses.
Syrian government appears to have fallen after opposition fighters said they entered Damascus following a surprise advance, and President Bashar Assad has left the country, a Syrian opposition war monitor reported.
Rami Abdurrahman, an opposition war monitor and head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, told The Associated Press that Assad had taken a flight from Damascus on Sunday. Assad flew from Damascus to an unknown destination on Sunday, senior Syrian army officials said.
