Our Story

DJ/VJ Niranjan is well known for his unique style of playing music. He plays a wide range of Music from the Late 60's to the Present Day Top 40's. He's Specialised in Wedding Receptions , Corparate Funtions & also playing for Retro Party's . Music was his passion from child hood . listning to the SLBC Radio shows on Medium ways(MW) as there was no FM Radio Frequencies till late 90's & watching ITN English Music Video Charts in the early 90's. In 1997 it all changed after seen 2 unique DJs performing at a Disco at a Carnival. they played music using Vinyl's .this caught his eye & use to go all 3 days they had the Disco to watch the 2 Dj's Playing. the DJ's were DJ Niraj & DJ Jacky. they were playing more Regge Music & Hiphop Music & they had about 10-15 Mettle Trunks full of Records. In 1998 there was a Friends Aunts birthday party ,so 4 of us got to Gather & desided ok lets do this & lets take up the job to play music at this party & started recording music on Cassette's , we some how recorded around 15-20 Cassette's and for ready with 2 cassette decks & we realised that we needed a mixer . a friend of mine ( stephen Demel aka Steeve J) directed me to Chamila Perera who agreed to rent me a Mixer. this is where we did our 1st party 2 Cassette Decks & a Mixer with a Home Stereo system for sounds. Got my 1st Gig in Late 1998 a LC 16 year Birthday Part .this was my 1st Ever Booking which i got paid. In 1999 i wanted to learn how to DJ/Mix Properly so i spoke to a friend of mine who was a DJ who was doing it professionally (Nuwan Fonseka).he directed me to a mother friend of his (Dinesh Herath) who later sent me near Chandana of MIx N Efx (AKA DJ Capital C) who taught me the basics of mixing & instalation of Sound Equipment. Late 2001 a Friend (DJ Rizwan) recomended me to Nalien Witanachchi of Perfect Beat to play 31st Night @ The Golden Mile Beach Restaurant & Pub in Mount to play my 1st Ever 31st Night Gig. it was the best experience i ever had. playing music form the late 70's , 80's & 90's Music & Music from Early 2000 catering all age groups. after that night i was invited by Nallen to join Perfect beat where i worked for 2-3 years Part Time ( i Was working at Abans Ltd full Time as my day Job) & gaining experience. I started getting bookings form my Friends & people i meet at Gigs (weddings & house parties) *In 2002 i bought my 1st Ever Console a Numark 4000 Panel type second hand console & 2 Zomax tops . *in 2003 I bought my Second console The Dennon 3000 (Brand New) one of the latest at that Time . In 2004 i quitted My Day Job & started to go on my own & formed my Own Outfit called World Music Entertainers. Since 2002 i have played over 1000 Wedding & 100's of Corporate & Private parties.

2001 – DJ at the Molly’s Pub in Nawam mawatha Colombo. 2004 – DJ at the Next Blue Pub at Austasia Sports Complex. 2011 – DJ at Avirate Miss Sri Lanka 2011 – RP at Hits FM 97 (9.00am – 1.00pm wired for work Radio Program) 2011 – DJ at ICC Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka 2012 – Instructor at the DJ Academy Sri Lanka. 2012 – DJ at Derana Miss Sri Lanka 2012 – DJ at The ICC T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka 2012 – VJ at Colombo Night Races VIP Tent (Organized by Avant Grade) 2013 – DJ at The 1996 World Cup Champs Exhibition Match 2013 – DJ at Derana Veet Miss Sri Lanka 2013 – DJ at Derana Film Awards 2013 – DJ at Derana Music Video Awards
