A new species of the Asian leaf litter toad is described from Guizhou Province, China🇨🇳, pointing to a high degree of localised diversification and micro-endemism for the species in the genus. Leptobrachella jinshaensis is frequently found from stream covered with reeds, and under the rocks.

Just published a comprehensive study on one of the most diverse groups of Indian frogs - the Shrub frog genus Raorchestes. For this work, we integrated morphology, phylogeny, acoustics, and behavioural and natural history observations to revisit all the known shrub frog species in the Western Ghats. We also describe five new species, all endemic to the Western Ghats regions in Kerala state. The full article can be found here: https://peerj.com/articles/10791/

Phylogeography of the Stone Sucker (Garra ceylonensis) in Sri Lanka published in the Biological Journal of the Linnaean Society (https://academic.oup.com/.../biolinnean/blaa221/6132423).
While Garra ceylonensis is a widespread species in the freshwater habitats of Sri Lanka, it exhibits morphological adaptations to living in fast-flowing waters.
We analyzed the phylogenetic and phylogeographic relationships of this species for the first time to reconstruct its evolutionary history.
Our results support the monophyly of Garra ceylonensis, with a sister-group relationship to the Indian species Garra mullya and only a single colonization of Sri Lanka by ancestral Garra, in the late Pliocene. Within the island, Garra ceylonensis shows strong phylogeographic structure: six subclades are distributed as genetically distinct populations in clusters of contiguous river basins, however, with two exceptions.
