International Film Festival of Colombo is the first major international film festival held in Sri Lanka. The festival, showcasing films from a variety of countries and varied cinema disciplines, first took place in Colombo from September 2, 2014- September 7, 2014. ring the festival, Colombo played host to a number of renowned personalities in the international world of cinema. The first of its kind, the festival attracted a new culture of filmgoers, filmmakers and critics from all over the world. Our cinema has been known mainly among the independent festival audience around the world. Therefore INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL OF COLOMBO’s goal is to full fill the need for an international cinema celebration in this island. The Directors Guild of Sri Lanka is the main body behind IFFCOLOMBO. Inspired by the glory and success of the 1st International Film Festival of Colombo, its 2nd episode is soon to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from 6th November, 2015 to 11th November, 2015.
