Did you know there was a 42-day bus service from Dover, England to Colombo, Ceylon?

The total distance was 22000km and the ticket price was £78 (~£2500 adjusted for inflation).

Established in 1958 by Penn Overland Tours.

[Route: Dover, Dunkirk, Paris, Venice, Istanbul, Tehran, Kabul, Lahore, Delhi, Rameswaram, Colombo.

Ferries were used between Dover — Dunkirk and Rameswaram — Colombo.]

ලංකාවේ ගොඩක් මිනිස්සු, පඩ ශෝ/ බොරු පොශ් නැතිව ජීවත් වෙන්න කැමති නැහැ... ඒත් මැරුනට පස්සේ මිනිස්සු ලක්ශ ගනන් තමන්ගේ අවමගුලට සහභාගී වෙන හැටි මතක් කරලා ආතල් ගන්නවා.

අවසාන කාලෙදිත් පාලිත තෙවරප්පෙරුම ගැන හොයලා බලන්න ඉහල සමාජ මට්ටමේ මිනිස්සු ගොඩක් හිටියේ නැහැ. මැද පන්තියේ වගේම දරිද්‍රතා මට්ටමෙන් යට ඉන්න මිනිස්සු හැමෝටම පාලිත තෙවරප්පෙරුම හොද පාඩමක් උගන්නලා තමා අවසන් ගමන් ගියේ...
ඒ තමයි... මීඩියා/දේශපාලුවෝ නිර්මාණය කරපු තමන්ට දරාගන්න බැරි පට්ට ණය කන්දරාවක් අරගෙන.. තමන්ට අවශ්‍ය නැති status එකක් maintain කරන්න ඕනේ කියන බොරු show-off මානසිකත්වයෙන් මිදිලා..තමන් වගේම ජීවත් වෙන්න අරගලයක ඉන්න මිනිස්සු වෙනුවෙන් කුහක කම් අතහැරලා ... අමාරුකම් මගහැරගන්න එකා වගේ එකතු වෙන්න ඕනේ කියන එක. ඒ නිසා උද්ධමනය ඉහලම කාල වකවානුවේ කන්න බොන්න නැති මිනිහ ගැන හොයලා බලන්න...

කෙලෙහි ගුන හැමදාම තිබ්බේ බොරු මරිසි නැති දුක් විදින මිනිස්සු අතරේ විතරමයි.... සමහර විට මැරුන වෙලාවට මිනිය කරගහන්න ඉතිරි වෙන්නේ ඒ වගේ කෙලෙහිගුනේ ඉතිරි උන් විතරයි.
නමුත්... තමන්ගේ මලගෙදර ගැන හිතලා ජීවත් වෙන මලමිනියක් වෙන්න එපා... ජීවත් වෙන තප්පරයේ කොහොම හරි තවත් මනුස්සයෙක්ට වචනයකින් හරි සහය වෙන මානුශීය මනුස්සයෙක් වෙන්න...
