Swipe to check out some stills from another VMLK production, once again for Heritance Negombo.

During the height of 'masterclass' trending worldwide we recieved a lot of requests to execute similar films, almost always cooking centric. This particular film is a trailer to a much longer format set of films produced for training purposes for the Heritance culinary team. We had a three camera setup with an incredible amount of negative fill and diffusing sheets running throughout the set to create the perfect contrast and lighting for our film.

This year has seen a complete overhaul of our business model. VMLK is no longer running with an inhouse team, instead we build production teams by hand picking preferred DOPs, directors, camera operators and add in that VMLK secret sauce.

Responsibilities
-Build positive relationships and interact with clients
-Understand core requirements of clients and have a genuine care for their brand(s)
-Keep clients updated at all times with statuses of their projects
-Conduct pricing according to production value and client budget as per costs allocated for ex*****on
-Organise client servicing activities with clients on a monthly basis
-Be smart and diplomatic with clients at all times
-Manage client projects whilst understanding the projects’, schedule, scope and budget
-Sharing quotations with clients
-Be able to negotiate the pricing with clients to ensure client requirements are met and quality of productions are not strongly affected

Key Requirements
-Effective communication skills and English proficiency
-Bachelor’s degree in business management/ administration or an industry related field
-Minimum 1 year of working experience in similar role

-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

A first assistant director, 1st AD, or simply assistant director, manages the logistics of creating a film or a television series. These professionals oversee production heads and serve as a point of contact between the director and the rest of a production’s cast and crew. The first assistant director may be the only assistant director working on a production, or they could manage a team of assistant directors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Director in executing their vision for the production
- Understand the purpose of the creative decisions taken by the Director and contribute other creative ideas to enhance value of productions
- Discuss and assist Directors in creating storyboards for productions by gathering information from script breakdowns
- Work on the PPM decks for the projects based on the Director’s vision/ input
- Create shot lists by analyzing scenes to determine what is needed to execute scenes and collaborate with with Directors and DOPs to finalise the ex*****on
- Oversee the creative aspect of productions; from identifying the appropriate locations, models, VO artists etc, to identifying the right set design, wardrobe, props etc

Production & Ex*****on:
- Track progress against production schedules/ call sheets and ensure productions stick to the schedule
- Ensure on-set communication is maintained and conflict resolution is tended to during productions
- Manage schedules if reshoots are required
- Maintain log sheet of selected/ approved takes by Director
- Management & Liaison with stakeholders
- Manage the pre-production as soon as the project gets confirmed
- Ensure there is effective coordination between departments that contribute to the success of the production
- Collaborate with the DOP to work out the creative technical elements required for the production prior to the shoot
- Collaborate with the Production Manager to source all the necessary suppliers
- Collaborate with the Production Manager to source props and other material required for productions
- Collaborate with the Production Manager and create realistic production schedules/ call sheets using shot lists, considering meal breaks and prep times required for a shoot day; from set-ups to make-up and wardrobe for talent
- Conduct reviews/ quality checks on PPM decks
- Be ahead of the crew on sets, with smooth workflows to ensure efficient productions

Responsibilities
- Operate motion picture or camera as you record scenes for motion pictures, advertising or television broadcasts.
- Know and apply the technical aspects of lenses, film, filters, light and camera settings to each shot to ensure the director gets the effect he or she wants.
- Adjust printers, camera controls, and any related equipment to find the right lighting, exposure and focus.
- Work with other film professionals, including electricians, lighting technicians and directors to determine desired effects, lighting requirements, camera movements and filming sequences.
- Arrange studio sets to best suit the settings on the camera, and control the lighting equipment, film stock, audio and cameras to get the result the director desires from the film.
- Maintain, clean and test all broadcasting equipment and cameras to ensure every tool is in good working order each day before filming starts.
- Watch filming sets closely to determine if problems are present in regards to camera angles and lighting and notify the director about issues before filming starts.
- Remain updated on new technology and current industry trends to ensure you bring the latest methods to the job
- Work with directors to determine all aspects of shots
- Provide practical and creative input to scene planning
- Select, assemble and position equipment (cameras, stands, software etc.)
- Prepare cameras and test angles or camera movements
- Shoot scenes according to requirements
- Capture quality footage from a fixed or moving position
- Collaborate with make up artists, lighting and sound staff to produce the best final effect
- Resolve technical or practical issues
- Edit footage as needed
-Operate the camera for the DOP as and when required

Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as the liaison between the AD's and all external suppliers/ stakeholders (actors/ models, location owners, makeup artists, drivers etc)
- Monitor the budget for the external suppliers throughout productions
- Handle logistics for all productions, including travel, transport & accommodation for crew
- Source and facilitate wardrobe and props as required
- Source and facilitate rentals of camera equipment, lighting, rigs or any other production related equipment
- Manage the inventory list of props and wardrobe owned by the company
- Facilitate safety and risk management on productions
- Organise contracts of legal permissions and agreements for productions when required
- Manage the supplier bank used by the company
- Share call sheets with external stakeholders and liase with them during productions
- Ensure all rentals are safely used and returned
- Close the books - once production concludes, look over the production budget and ensure that needs were met within the parameters established in the beginning.
- Understand and recommend preferred suppliers for productions based on quality of their services, ultimately ensure higher quality productions
- Be organised and accountable across all documentation/ receipts in relation to suppliers

Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
- Creates invoices and estimates according to financial policies and procedures
- Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions.
- Creates reports regarding the current status of customer accounts as requested.
- Collaborates with Accounts payable officer to plan out cash outflow according to the inflow.
- Assists Accounting Manager in reconciling revenue accounts each month.
- Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as needed.
- Performing account reconciliations
- Producing monthly management reports and reports detailing accounts receivable status
- Investigating and resolving any irregularities or inquiries
